Right 2 Challenge rolls into Otaki

One man will earn a guaranteed NZWPW Championship match, at the time and place of his choosing, in Otaki tonight at NZWPW Right 2 Challenge.

First-time Right 2 Challenge participants Paul Sayers and Taylor Adams take on former winners Johnny Idol and “Rufguts” Roddy Gunn in the fatal four-way bout.

What would already have been a highly competitive match became even more intriguing at last week’s Bringing Down the House event.

Rufguts, and manager Dream Catcher, declared a civil war in New Zealand wrestling and attempted to assault both Johnny Idol and Taylor Adams by the end of the night, but were headed off when the two, along with James Shaw and Paul Sayers, joined forces at the end of the night.

Will a three-on-one beatdown be in store for Rufguts tonight in Otaki, or will the lure of a guaranteed NZWPW Championship match be enough to temporarily disband the Adams/Idol/Sayers alliance?

Ben Mana, the current NZWPW Champion, may not hold the title when the Right 2 Challenge winner chooses to cash in their shot. Mana is set to defend his title in Otaki tonight, though he has no idea who his opponent will be.

“No word from the CWO or anyone else for that matter. Guess we’ll find out tomorrow,” he said yesterday.

Which member of the NZWPW roster will be granted the coveted title match? And, with no time to prepare for a specific opponent, will Mana be able to hold onto his title against the Right 2 Challenge level odds?

Another Right 2 Challenge winner, JC Star, is in action tonight, facing D-Hoya in a grudge match stemming from Power Play X.

D-Hoya signed JC Star to his team for a four-on-four against Team Dream Catcher at NZWPW’s show of the year, and was shocked when Star turned on him with a superkick, handing the match to Phil Woodgate’s group.

As such, the two go one-on-one in a rematch from Power Play 6 that is sure to be heated.

NZWPW Right 2 Challenge takes place tonight, October 18, at the Otaki Memorial Hall. Doors open at 7pm with the first match starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are available on the door ($15 for adults, $10 for children). The card, subject to change, is listed below.
