140228_bdthNZWPW Champion Ben Mana looks to defend his title against long-term rival Axl at tonight’s Bringing Down the House event, The Man, The Myth, The Challenge.

This will be Axl and Mana’s fourth one-on-one meeting, with Mana having beaten Axl in two of their three other matches, with one no contest between the pair.

Axl earned his place as number one contender to Mana’s title when he beat Adam Avalanche at NZWPW’s January Bringing Down the House event, and could be on track to make 2014 his year.

Ben Mana is eager to make this title defence go the way of their previous contests though, and end the night with Mana’s hand held high and the NZWPW Championship still over his shoulder.

“I’m past the point of just wanting to stay champion tomorrow night,” Mana wrote on his Facebook page. “At Bringing Down the House 37 you’ve been booked for a public scalping courtesy of the Man, the Myth, the Mana!”

Also at Bringing Down the House, Mikey and Taylor Adams meet to determine a new He Toa Cup Champion.

The He Toa Cup was vacated by Chad Howard, last year and both Adams and Mikey have made their way through the quarter and semi-final stages of a tournament to bring them face-to-face at tonight’s event.

Neither man has held a singles championship before, and both will be eager to defeat their former friend turned bitter enemy.

Can Adams do the people of Blenheim proud and become He Toa Cup Champion, or will Mikey show that he was the brains behind their tag team title winning duo and walk out of the He Toa Gym with another accolade to add to his name?

NZWPW Bringing Down the House 37: The Man, The Myth, The Challenge takes place tonight, February 28, at the He Toa Gym on North Street, Petone. Click here for a map. Doors open at 7pm with the first match scheduled for 7.30pm. Tickets are available on the door ($15 for adults, $10 for children). The card, subject to change, is listed below.
