140327_falenjcupBad Luck Fale is back in New Zealand to contemplate a potential IWGP Heavyweight Championship match.

Fale, who arrived home a few days ago, had an incredible week in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, advancing all the way to the final of the New Japan Cup tournament on iPPV last Sunday.

“The Underboss” overcame Togi Makabe one week earlier, before running through Tetsuya Naito and Shelton “X” Benjamin en route to the tournament final match against Shinsuke Nakamura.

Nakamura ultimately won the match, but came out looking worse for wear after a headbutt from Fale split his nose open.

In great news for Fale, Nakamura elected to challenge Hiroshi Tanahashi for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship after winning the tournament, which will theoretically give Fale a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

Dates for either title match have yet to be announced.

The New Japan Cup tournament final is still available on Ustream until the end of the week.
