NZWPW Champion Ben Mana ventures north this weekend to take on Hotaru in at Maniacs United’s Retribution event.
“I’ve heard about this young fulla,” Mana said. “I hear he’s one of the up-and-coming players in the New Zealand pro wrestling industry.
“I think you’re doing alright but I’ve got a message for you. You’d best be bringing whatever you have to the table because if you want to be one of the best in NZ pro wrestling you’re going to have to come though me.”
Hotaru will attempt to do just that in the Retribution main event, but will be in for an uphill battle if he hopes to overcome Mana in his rookie year.
Another New Zealand wrestling veteran, “Rufguts” Roddy Gunn, will wrestle on the Retribution card. The SCW Champion is scheduled to take on Kingston Eclipse, with KPW Women’s Champion Scarlett serving as the special referee.
Also at Retribution, Charlie Roberts has a chance for revenge when he takes on the man who beat him for the KPW tag team titles last year, Stix.
Maniacs United Retribution takes place tomorrow, May 31, at Kaurilands Primary School in Titirangi, Auckland. Click here for a map. Tickets are available on the door ($15 adults, $10 children). The card, subject to change, is listed below.
