Brock Lesnar set a record, Edge made a shocking return to the ring, and Drew McIntyre won the 30-Man Royal Rumble at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.

Lesnar, who entered the match at No. 1, eliminated 13 straight WWE Superstars from Elias (No. 2) to MVP (No. 12) to Braun Strowman (No. 14) before he ran into Drew McIntyre (No. 16).

The Scottish Psychopath ended Lesnar’s reign of terror with a Claymore Kick to eliminate the WWE Champion.

The shock of McIntyre taking out Lesnar – a heavy favourite with oddsmakers – was eclipsed by No. 21, Edge. For the first time in nine years, The Rated-R Superstar returned to a WWE ring with all the fanfare and fireworks befitting the WWE Hall of Famer.

Thirty Superstars ultimately became four, leaving McIntyre, Edge, Randy Orton and Roman Reigns to battle for their place in the WrestleMania main event.

Edge eliminated his Rated-RKO partner before being eliminated by Roman Reigns, leaving The Big Dog and McIntyre to fight it out in a rematch of sorts from WrestleMania 35.

While Reigns bested McIntyre at MetLife Stadium, it was a different story at Royal Rumble.

McIntyre took out Reigns with a Claymore Kick and threw him over the top rope to advance to WrestleMania 36 and his first match for either the Universal or WWE Championship.

Charlotte Flair asserted herself as one of WWE’s most accomplished Superstars with a win in the 30-Woman Royal Rumble Match.

Flair took out Bianca Belair, Kelly Kelly, Sarah Logan, and finally Shayna Baszler en route to winning her first Royal Rumble.

“Since Day One, I have been a diamond cut to last,” Flair said.

“Whether any of you wanted me to win or wanted me to lose, tonight I reminded all of you that this is my division!”

Royal Rumble 2020 set a Minute Maid Park attendance record of 42,715.
