Imperium have overcome The Undisputed Era despite facing a four-on-three disadvantage.
After being attacked at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II, the NXT UK side were out for revenge at Worlds Collide.
Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly singled out Imperium’s Alexander Wolfe early into the eight-man main event. The NXT Tag Team Champions rattled Wolfe with a pair of kicks before WWE officials removed Wolfe from the match.
“Alexander Wolfe got caught on the chin early by a combo … and just got knocked out,” Triple H explained.
“Imperium had to go three-on-four against Undisputed Era, arguably the most dominant faction that we’ve seen—if not ever—in a long period of time, and were still able to pull it out.”
With the numbers against them, Imperium dragged O’Reilly to their corner and cut him off from his Undisputed Era partners.
After carrying out the match as close to three-on-one as possible, Imperium and Undisputed Era brawled to the outside of the ring. A series of breathtaking dives left most Superstars down, and Fish alone in the ring with NXT UK Champion Walter.
Fish overshot his target on a moonsault, which gave Walter the chance to nail him with a dropkick. Walter then smashed Fish to the mat with a devastating powerbomb to pick up the win for Imperium and NXT UK.
Counting Kay Lee Ray’s victory against Mia Yim during the Worlds Collide Pre-Show, Worlds Collide ended with three victories each for NXT and NXT UK.
“This was one of those nights where I feel like when we went back to the beginning and that first Arrival event we did where it kind of launched NXT to another place,” Triple H said. “When you get done you feel like you launched this franchise. Tonight’s one of those nights.”
