WWE NXT has been put on notice: it’s Toni time!
New Zealand-born Toni Storm appeared via video inside the Capitol Wrestling Center – a redesigned WWE Performance Center – during today’s NXT TakeOver 31.
Storm, 24, delivered a message to NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai, who had just retained her title against Candice LeRae.
“I just wanted to congratulate you on what an impressive victory that was,” Storm said.
“Oh, I also wanted to make sure that you and everyone else around here is keeping their head on a swivel because as of right now, Toni Storm is back in NXT.
“It goes without saying that I will be turning this place upside down and inside out and I will be showing the NXT Universe that it is indeed Toni time!”
Storm, a former NXT UK Women’s Champion, last appeared on WWE programming at this year’s Royal Rumble.
It appears Storm isn’t the only woman with eyes on Io Shirai’s title.
Former NXT Women’s Champion Ember Moon appeared in-person to confront Shirai moments after Storm had left the video screen.
Rhea Ripley also staked her claim to the NXT Women’s Championship in a pre-TakeOver interview with Triple H.
“I want my championship back,” Ripley told Triple H. “I want [a match against] whoever walks out as champion.”
