From undesirable to undeniable, can Cody Rhodes finish the story?

Rhodes has a second chance to claim the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WWE WrestleMania XL – live from Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday and Monday.

Rhodes vs. Reigns takes place in Monday’s main event, but could play out wildly different depending on the result of WrestleMania Sunday when Rhodes joins forces with Seth “Freakin” Rollins against The Bloodline.

Who’ll emerge from Night 1 with all the momentum required to be the face of WWE by the end of Night 2? Join the NZPWI Roundtable as we break down the card for WWE WrestleMania XL.

* * *

Cody Rhodes & Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson & Roman Reigns

Grady Hooker (100% accurate for 2024):
This match could go either way. We’ve seen both teams get the best of one another. I think the x-factor will be The Rock – does he still have some rust or is he running at 100 per cent? With pride on the line, we are going to get the absolute best of The Rock at WrestleMania.
Winners: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson & Roman Reigns

AJ Murtagh:
Roman Reigns has been an unstoppable force in WWE for years. The Rock is an unstoppable force in WWE, Hollywood, and eventually probably even in politics. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins are a formidable team but Seth’s attention is divided between this match, Drew McIntyre, and CM Punk. Cody will fight his heart out but The Bloodline will have all the bases covered like they always do and pull out the win here. I believe Cody will finish the story come Monday but it won’t be easy.
Winners: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson & Roman Reigns

David Dunn (50% accurate for 2024):
The Rock hasn’t come back to WWE to be in second place. When it became clear he wouldn’t be taking Cody Rhodes’ title match, The Rock pivoted to taking Cody’s hope of winning that title match. He can seal the deal here, implementing Bloodline Rules for Night 2.
Winners: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson & Roman Reigns

Sammy G (50% accurate for 2024):
This is one of – if not the – highest stakes tag team matches in WrestleMania history not to have a title on the line. With the threat of “Bloodline Rules” for Cody and Roman’s bout on Night 2, I’m backing The Rock and Roman Reigns to stack the odds against Cody!
Winners: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson & Roman Reigns

Steve McCleary (50% accurate for 2024):
Just look at what The Bloodline has done this month to Rollins and Rhodes. There’s levels within levels to what they’re dishing out. I expect them to steamroll through Night 1, thanks to an intricate plan. But I do believe Cody will find a kryptonite for The Rock and Bloodline by Night 2.
