It was up there, but it was certainly good enough to close out this chapter in FCW.

Ok, just happened upon this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=le52RBzA ... r_embedded

Is this a video promoting Summer Slam, or a video promoting the fact that half of WWE are so loopy on "meds" ,that the wellness programme would end their careers come next testing day?.

EDIT: Just needed Vince doing a little bit of "Stand Back" to send it right over the top.

Just clicked that its 24 years since Bruiser Brody was stabbed to death. Spent last hour or two watching memorial shows staged shortly after he died. First time I had ever seen these shows. Thats why I love youtube.

A synopsis for WWE’s planned nWo DVD and Blu-ray set is now out, revealing the format of content included.

The title is scheduled for a November 2012 release as a three-disc DVD, and two-disc on Blu-ray. The blurb reveals that the set will include a new documentary on the history of the nWo, as the main feature of the title. Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are also mentioned and the rest of the set will consist of matches and moments from nWo’s run in WCW and WWE. Here is the synopsis:

In the mid-90s, a malicious group of renegades ‘invaded’ World Championship Wrestling, shaking the landscape of the sports-entertainment world and turning the tables on Monday Night War. Little did anyone know, the shock of the century was yet to come. When Hulk Hogan did the unthinkable and turned his back on the fans, The Outsiders had officially become The New World Order, and chaos ensued.

Now, relive the the history of one of the most infamous and controversial factions of all time with this brand new documentary. Get the inside scoop from those who lived it, such as Kevin Nash, Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff, as well as new interviews from Superstars who were inspired and enthralled by the nWo. Also featuring the definitive matches and moments from the era, including battles for the WCW World Heavyweight title, stunning defections to the nWo and the internal strife that eventually tore the group apart.

Better have some Scott Norton on there. It's bullshit how he hardly ever appears in these kind of things. Guy was IWGP Champion for fricks sake!

It would also be super sweet to have some NWO Japan/Typhoon stuff on there as well. Probably won't happen but it's nice to dream.

Is anyone here overly familiar with ROH circa 2010? Like, if there was a sale on DVDs and I had to pick between 8th Anniversary Show, Champions' Challenge and Tag Wars, what should I get?!

Well on paper Champions' Challenge appears to be the better card of the three, but as Ive not got around to watching it all ( Ive watched only two matches so far) But have seen Tag Wars & 8th Anniversary show, Id have to say the 8th Anniversary show was the better booked and more entertaining of the two Ive seen completely.
Aries taking the belt off Tyler Black was well done and the addition of having judges for the match gave it a degree of importance. Under card was solid through out, no match failed to deliver, although the KOW vs Bravados was a little lackluster in my most humble of opinon.

But to be honest, if you are looking for some ROH that is trying to rebuild itself after taking a bit of a thumping in recent years with the loss of many of its bankable talent, these three shows do a pretty good job of building up fresher acts (Richards, Edwards...after both going solo, and to a degree ANX) & show why the E was intent on signing Tyler Black. So yeah, you cant go wrong with any of these shows

I am the worst at making decisions! 8th Anniversary Show has the worst looking cover, but I have opted for that, just.

8th Anniversary Show, Death Before Dishonor, and Final Battle for (US)$12.75 - can't go wrong with that!

Yeah, I guess it is a rather Meh! looking cover.

So is that through rohwrestling.com?. Got some clearance titles from them last year and they were amazing prompt. I had my dvds within a week of ordering.

Yeah, they've got a "Summer Sizzler Sale" on until the end of the weekend. $5 for whatever they have left from 2010. $3 for their leftover 2005 titles. And then with the ringside member discount it's worked out remarkably cheap. You can effectively double the price when you factor in postage, but it's still ridiculous value. Especially with Death Before Dishonor being a two-disc set! I have given ROH more of my money than any other company this year, actually. Interesting...

I might have to pop over to the site and do a little bit of shopping. Been meaning to get #DemBoys MAN UP T-Shirt for a while, might as well make a effort and grab some dvds while Im at it.

Caught a bit of NXT last night, saw The Ascension in action against two random dudes. Love their guttural screams and intense stares! Good to see the Eliminators finisher back in use too!

Is the short-haired one the "Rat" guy from previous NXT series?

Yup, it's the rat guy. He caught a lucky break being separated from that!

I love how the other guy does that lighting thing in his hand during their intro (not sure if they did it last night). It's very cool. they'd look great in a large arena. Provided they give them both better individual names.

The light thing is different, but its pretty naff. Hey looked at me and my neat trick involving my sleeve and a penlight torch....how bad ass am I ?
But yeah, the intro is great, its just not backed up with anything remotely different once the bell rings. Its like if The Brood came out, all dark and vampirious, done their blood drinking gimmick, lights go on and its typical match 101 time and no blood bath is delivered.
I keep thinking its like an updated version of the old "Crazy" gimmick, where the guy comes out all batshit crazy eyed and then once the bell rings its pretty much stock standard wrestling match. Use to annoy the hell out of me when that would happen.

Ive been thinking its been ages since the pre match ref checks for hidden objects routine resulted in any one being found to have a hidden weapon tucked away.
I mean, if someone came in and spent a month or so pulling all manner of trick out of their boot, knee/ elbow pad etc, leading into a tainted victory... well then a somewhat decent angle could be made of various refs trying to "disarm" the guy, hell even a few planted "Fans' could get in on the action and be called in to check the guy over before the bell.

Sure, its not original in the least ( Eddie Gilbert done that very thing in pretty much every promotion he was in), but it would give the pre match pat down a purpose... other than the 11th hour booking changes being relayed to wrestlers.

Ok, so Ive had too much free time of late. Fan booking is still cool....RIGHT!!!? :P

But that's the thing they are doing the crazy thing during the match with their guttural screams! Which is cool (and funny). Plus he's like totally reading the guys mind with the quickfire blocking of the punches!

Re: checking for foreign objects, I seem to recall it happening in WCW at some point in the late 90s early 00's, or maybe I'm thinking of Regal during his power-of-the-punch days?

See, I guess thanks to the intro Im kind of expecting them to be a little more than a tad screamy, is all. I mean, I think the idea is there, just not being played to its fullest. I dont know if its because of their vanilla like names, or the lack of "different" projected by the pair once the bell rings. As for the team name The Ascension... are they intending on ascending above opening act?. Because right now, they just come across as window dressing.

Yeah, Regals over all gimmick would of been perfect to work off the ref partaking in a foreign objects treasure hunt. Something to make the routine seem purposeful at least.
Then again, I did get a touch worked up about the lack of pre match boot wiping I saw going on in FCW a while back, now they cant seem to get enough of wiping the feet before climbing in the ring... so yeah, Im a picky, overthinking, semi jaded bundle of smarky, when it comes down to it.

I think The Ascension are stuck between an awful gimmick and a good one; and can't decide which way to go.

I think they're both talented, but I agree; they either need to go full retard* or rethink it. (And going full retard won't work, I imagine).

*retard = scary gothic non-vampires.
