I don't know if people want to talk about it or not, or if there is even anything that can be said, but IPW's next two shows will be its last, after 10 years in business.

It's a shame. No doubt another promotion will rise from the ashes of IPW though. And/or KPW/WPW will perform more often in Auckland.

It sucks sooo much. As a part of IPW for 3 years to see how much it grew and how much it was still growing its come as a massive shock to me. Ill def be at the last 2 shows to catch up with mates and see the best in NZ do what they do.

I hope the last show has heaps of old talent for a reunion show.

Found out the news from Dean, I couldn't believe it untill I came on NZPWI. IPW will be sorely missed! It will be an end of an era for NZ Wrestling. I hope to get up for the very last show no doubt. Also maybe I can finally swap my IPW Tshirt for the correct size haha. had no luck trying to talk to anyone about an exchange. Long Live IPW! Thanks for the memories! It's been great!

Sad for all who loved this promotion. At least they are hyping up the closing shows which means it will be brought. Hope it goes well for them.

WOW!, Just WOW!.
That came from out of nowhere!.
I thought they had managed to build themselves up to a point where they were considered "THE" NZ fed.
A decade is damn impressive & over the years they have produced/ featured countless talents who have helped rebuild the NZ scene after it all but died out in the 80s & remained pretty much dead through the entire 90s.

I would like to think all the guys & girls will find a new home & continue to pursue their goals, either locally or over seas.

But anyway, thanks for the decade worth of fun filled, action packed, homegrown wrestling guys.

Well FUCK.

I was a regular attender in the days of Point Chev / Lynfield and tried to keep in touch with what was happening through online sources. Went to a coupl eof Mana Mamau tapings while back in Auckland for a visit.

Personal Top 5 Moments:

* Victor Lucid turns on HAV, joins The Style Cartel. What a dick.

* The Heel Section, particularly the 'Wanker's Wrist' chant aimed at Camera Boy

* Joey Kincaid. The Machine. Car parts. Holy. Shit.

* Vinnie Dunn debuts, is massive dick.... loses.

* Lyte Playa wins title off Deluxeo, crowd explodes

Damn shame, stupid economy!!!!!! *shakes fish*

Never been to a strictly IPW show (going to the first NZPWI Invitational was as close as I got, being on their home ground and all), but have been following them since the early Mania days (got a few of their tapes before they started making DVDs, can't even remember who provided them) and make sure I catch them at Welly-Geddon and other shows here in the capital (like pre-WWE show which was bloody awesome all round).

Speaking of which, does this mean they won't be at Welly-Geddon? Or will the Welly promotions get in on the act (and 'host' any of the Aucklanders that still want/are able to provide a show)?

Regardless of how this all pans out (hoping that there'll be a shiny silver lining) big ups to all the wrestlers and support crew and everyone that's been involved with IPW now and in the past.

Who cares how armaggedon is, I just go for the wrestling and if i can find some cheap deals. IPW will be returning to where WWE's NZ Tour began. The Westpac Stadium. What a way to send off for the very last show where WWE in NZ Began. So symbolic.....

That's smart holding Armageddon there in June. Guaranteed to be pissing down and a nice southerly blast.

...it won't be outside on the field. Conventions, festivals, etc use the concourse, not the stadium bowl.

You callin' me a liar?

Sucks for everyone involved, wrestlers, fans, behind-the-scenes-peoples etc. Especially someone like Luke, knowing how much it meant to him - after he's been working his ass off for years - just to get the opportunity to have one match. But I always believe everything happens for a reason, so who knows what the future holds, perhaps bigger and better things.

Thanks for the years of entertainment, IPW. Glad I managed to attend one live show and I may just travel up there for the farewell show.

It's a shame to see IPW closing down, I really enjoyed going to their shows in Pt Chev and Lynfield back in the day, seeing Lyte Playa win the title from Double D, HAV and Jon E King in a Ladder Match, Vinny Dunn in jean shorts, the Style Cartel, Daddy Kool as the commish, Luke Joshua don't hassle the tassle! And one of my favourite matches was Fans Bring the Weapons Four Way between I think it was Jordan Invincible, Double D, Vinny Dunn and Dal Knox

ah man itd suck if it wasnt on the grounds coz they could use the trons for showing the main stage interviews and whats going on around the stadium. they could put up a huge marquee to hold the rain out etc. I supose well learn more later this month when they announce more
