Round One: Week Three - BONUS POINTS

You each have the amount of money posted in the previous post. Just like last week you will have to keep checking back as I update the odds as I see them on the TAB site. If there is a deadline for a fixture you must get that bet in before the game starts or it will not be counted.

BONUS POINTS ROUND: This round consists of bonus points. The points will be awarded in descending order, of those who have made the most profit from their bets this week. If you don't make any profit, you will not get any bonus points.

Just a reminder that multi bets are allowed.

An example of a Multi bet using MeLoCo's bet example:

$10 Soccer Multi
Aston Villa onto Middlesborough onto Draw(Liverpool/Man Utd)
2.50 x 2.45 x 3.10 = 18.9875

Return = $10 x 18.9875 = $189.875

This was using week one's odds. As you can see a simple $10 could of turned into a nice $190 if the results came through.

All new players can start playing so join in! New players start with $65.00 which they may spend how they like.

Sorry about putting this up on Thursday as I was again at the house with no internet. Odds to be placed shortly.

Do I have to choose an option for every section? Or just as many as I want?

Just as many as you want.

You can make one bet, or you can make several. Its all up to you and what you think will make you the most money.

Great to have new people sign up too!

EDIT: Added A-League games and a racing fixture.

Man I'm a betting n00b hahaha...

So if I put $5 on something that's worth $10.00 then if it happens I get $45.00 plus my $5 back, but if it doesn't happen then I lose my $5?

I think I'm making it more complicated then it is. I've never bet before, I'm a christian boy....

Yup your right.

It's just the odds * by how much you want to bet. You can also use a multi bet where you multiply the odds to get a bigger reward.

Check back a couple of pages for that, but most people are just using normal bets anyway.

Remember this is a bonus round! All bets must be made by 8:00pm tonight!

I'll put the bets up tonight to ensure that its fair and no cheating is involved.

EDIT: Added a couple of NZFC fixtures.

Round One: Week Three Totals

What a week of betting. This week there was considerable mixed fortune. Some betters losing quite significant sums of money whilst others making a tidy profit. As this week was the bonus round, points will be given to those who made a profit only.

MeLoCo, the pre-comp favourite who has been lying in at second to last place before the week finally showed us what he is capable of. He placed a $10 Multi on the Melbourne Victory (1.60) onto Qld/Sydney ($3.20 Draw) onto $1.65 Aston Villa for a mighty return of $84.48. He unfortunately didn't cash in on his racing bet and ended up with a profit of $69.48

A96original had one hell of a good bet with $20 spent on the NY Giants over the Dallas Cowboys. Overall this allowed A96original to establish a profit for the round of $32.00.

Kylesta managed to cash in on some very generous odds in the NZFC. With his favoured Waitakere United paying $2.65 FTW whilst a sizable $50 bet on ACFC allowed him to make some money. He also had a Victory onto Man Utd multi which helped him to make a profit of $29.70.

The last player to make a profit for the round was PrimeTimePlaya. PTP being the newcomer of the round showed no signs of weakness as he grounded out a comfortable $21.68 profit due to two nice bets of Bangladesh highest opening partnership, and a bet on the Giants and Chargers.

JR has largely made minimal, small bets in the competition so far which has taken him to 5th place on the competition. However he looked to change that and improve by making three bets, $20 each on Oram high bat, a multi with (Bell more runs than Cumming) into (Phoenix head to head), and another multi of (2-3 goals in Phoenix match) into (Everton/Man City draw) into (Sydney FC head to head) into (Fleming more runs than Fulton). Unfortunately for JR none of these bets eventuated and he ended up losing a mammoth $60.

Our leader after 2 weeks, Bubble Wrap had a poor week considering some of the other efforts. He ended up with a loss of $29 which could of been more if he hadn't placed a nice $30 multi on NZ over Bangladesh onto NZ 1st innings lead. I have since learned (Thanks MeLoCo!) that the TAB wouldn't allow this bet as it is a conflict of interest such as NZ could score 700 in the first innings and it could be what basically gave them the win. However as the winning amount was small and no mention of this happened before the bet I will leave it as it is.

Small losses were achieved by !~Humble~!, Gunjack and #1 peep and they will hope to do better in the final week of the round.

Paul, another newcomer to the comp was unable to follow PTP's rookie ways and made a loss of $19.

AFC_Gunner decided not to make any bets this week. This may be a strange move considering bonus points were on offer.

A-List Player did not place any bets, nor did he say he would not be betting this week so he will lose a point.

After three rounds of betting we have the following totals.

Standings

1. Kylesta = $130.96 (+2)
2. MeLoCo = $129.48 (+8.)
3. A96original = $103.60 (+6)
4. #1 peep = $97.00 (-2)
5. A-List Player = $87.50 (-1)
6. PrimeTimePlaya = $86.68 (+7)
7. Bubble Wrap = $78.50 (-6)
8. AFC_Gunner = 73.75 (NC)
9. !~Humble~! = $70.20 (-2)
10. Gunjack = $59.97 (-4)
11. Paul = $46.00 (+3)
12. JR = $24.70 (-6)
13. AULELEI= $0.00

The amount of money you have here carries onto next week.

Those who wish to join this will start at $65 in Round one: Week Four - The Final Week of the Round.

Bonus Points.

As this was a bonus points round, the following bonus points have been award to those who have made profit.

MeLoCo - 4 Points
A96original - 3 Points
Kylesta - 2 Points
PrimeTimePlaya - 1 Point

Next set of odds will be up TOMORROW Tuesday 14th 2008.

Corrected!

I'll have the odds up by tomorrow so you can make bets on the Australia/India test which starts on Wednesday.

I've got $5 on Federer and Henin to win the Australian Open.

It's win win.

Roddick's shit as is Hewitt...and well Nadal will probably go down as per usual in the quarters, especially with his bung knees and foot...also Davydenko would be mentally beaten due to the on-going match fixing allegations. So in saying that, as long as Federer can beat that 8 foot giant, he'll win.

Also Henin needs to just buy a bra and stop taping down her b00bs.
