Hey Guys,

After some positive feedback from the NZPWI Survivor thread I thought I'd kick this off.

This will be a weekly thing consisting of 4 weeks a round. After each round, points will be issued to those with the most money in descending order. In total there will be 6 rounds with the Yearly winner, the person with the most points over the 6 rounds, announced sometime next May/June.

Each player gets $100 at the start of a round, which they can spend how they wish.

Each Wednesday I will post various odds for different sporting fixtures coming up. PM your bets which must be received by Friday night or you will lose $5 to your total funds and lose 1 point.

After each round, fund's are reset to $100.

The points consist of the following:

Round winners:

1st Place - 20 Points

2nd Place - 18 Points

3rd Place - 16 Points

4th Place - 14 Points

5th Place - 12 Points

6th Place - 10 Points

7th Place - 8 Points

8th Place - 6 Points

9+ - 4 Points

Miss a week* - -1 points.

*Miss a week consists of no PM sent to me that week. If you choose not to bet for a week you must send a PM saying so.

Once bankrupt you may get a cash injection of $50 however this will incur a fee of 5 points, so you must judge if it is beneficial to do so.

Once a week has finished the funds carry on to the next week until the four week round is up and a brief summary of the points is presented and Round 1 winners are judged.

Every month I will have one week where you may earn bonus points. More info to come on that when it happens.

I will update with a leader board on the Monday following the fixtures.

Fire away any questions and the first round of betting will begin next week. Mod's can move to forum/games section if wanted but as it's a Sports Betting thread thought it could go here.

Sounds a complicated way of going about it.

I weirdly agree with Nick. I'd like to, but it seems you're complicating it a bit.

Meh whatever, put me in anyway.

It's basically whoever wins the most money after each round gets the most points.

The points are there to make it somewhat interesting. Having said that I'm totally open to any improvements or suggestions before we start next week.

I think it would be just fun to see who makes the most each week, but I'm still down with playing with points. Sounds fun.

Sounds good, although im dreading having to actually bet on these.....but then again its basically only 25 a week i spose.

I have 1 question, are we able to multibet? (obviously using the same rules as the TAB in regards to no relation between bets multied)

You are gonna create a whole bunch of degenerate gamblers Kylesta

Multi Bet's are just calculated by multiplying the prices of each individual winning selection right? If so it will very much be. Will be interesting to see if people go for safe bets or long multi bets with the chance of winning huge money. I normally just use that handy return calculator on the TAB site and never really payed attention to how it worked :D

That's the plan :P

Yup, I'll be putting up as much odds as I can so people can choose what they want. Should have some football, cricket, tennis, basketball etc.

In cricket matches are we allowed to bet on scores, such as highest scoring batsman? Or is what we're doing all match results based?

Depends on when those odds get released. If it's out in time I'll put it up so keep checking back and seeing what odds are available on this page.

At the moment the only basketball and soccer odds are that of who's going to win the various championships and games playing tomorrow. I would imagine that the odds for the weekend games would come out tomorrow as teams are named etc which MeLoCo kindly told me with before the comp started.
