There's also 4 pin and 6 pin variations. Apple FTW!

So I don't know how I've managed this, but where there's a me, there's a way. I've done something to my Mac and it is running fucking horribly. The internet cuts out and runs slow all the time. It's not my connection because it's working fine on my Windows Laptop. Every time I try playing a video on quicktime, it runs really bad, stops and starts etc. Mac experts, advice me please!

Throw the Mac in the trash where it belongs and buy a real computer? :P

Or as Maccore_Ladgend suggested - some kind of restoration of the systematronics.

Try Disk Utility

    1. Start from your Mac OS X Install disc: Insert the installation disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.

So, I still experience the problem of my internet cutting out all the time, but only on Mac. It works without fail on my Windows Laptop, but constantly cuts out on Mac. I always have to restart the modem for it to work again, which is annoying as it slows down progress and cuts out downloads which means I have to start them again. As usual all help is much appreciated =D

Yeah every single thing is the same, haven't changed a thing. I don't understand what could possibly be going wrong. I'm all out of ideas on what could be wrong. Sometimes it goes fine, like now, but other days it's just awful. Cuts out again almost immediately after I re-set.

Anyone tried those new Mino HD cameras that plug into your USB port? I was looking at them, but there was a sony model, that was pretty similar, any one seen any reviews, or had first hand experience?

I briefly bought one of those ones, can't remember which. Found it shocking to use and the lack of zoom on the model I had meant it was far crappier than my old cellphone's camera was - hard to stay in focus and was always really dark. All the reviews I read (stupidly after I'd bought it) were trashing most of the tiny HD cameras. I returned mine. Then bought a smart phone with a much better camera.

I'd recommend not buying one unless you get to thoroughly test it first to see if it fits your requirements.

You tried using Time Machine to roll back to before the problems that can't possibly be "real" happened? (this will eliminate hardware as the issue).

Nintendo Wii question.

Okay so my Dad decided that doing the vaccuming was a great idea and he totally destroyed the wire for the sensor bar....

Does anyone have a clue where to buy a replacement? My Dad brought a wireless one, but the thing is fucking shithouse and I refuse to play the Wii until it's sorted.

I don't see why anywhere that sells Wii's wouldn't sell it under Wii accessories.

My fancy sennheiser headphones are dying on me via the classic method of shitty wiring. Is there a way to fix this myself, short of cutting it open myself? I'm searching through my bank records to see when I got it and from where, as the receipt is one of the many things that went 'missing' 'mysteriously' during my recent move.

My understanding is that the issue isn't quite that black and white.

Firstly, the US courts have said jailbreaking doesn't LEGALLY void your warranty. However, Apple (citing customer experience and intended use) are saying that it does invalidate your warranty because it removes their ability to ensure a safe operating environment.

That said, they'd also have to work out your product is jailbroken - in itself this is challenging (particularly given Apple's first-line maintenance mantra of the five Rs - reset, retry, restart, reinstall, restore). If it gets to the reinstall or restore stage, it's pretty much a given that your iPod will be returned to pristine factory standard anyway, and most people are more than capable of checking all five steps themself.

If it's bricked after all of this, it's bricked - they'll never know one way or another.

Well yeah.

I mean, if its ever fucked and you need to send it to Apple, then restore the firmware and its good to go. As long as you follow the steps it should be fine too. To actually brick it through JBing is pretty unlikely.

Mind you, I Jailbroke my touch about 2 years ago. I would have thought all the apps and tools would have improved by now. I remember having to manually input command lines etc when it was a tethered JB
