lol @ all the Tebow jokes on Twitter...

"Tebow, it's me, God. Sorry, playing Canasta at the old folks home. Rain Check?"

"Tim Tebow inspired me to become a better person. Until tonight. Now I'm going to rob a liquor store."

"I can't believe Jebus let him down. It's like football isn't the most important thing on the agenda."

"After tonight, Tebow can go back to feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and not banging hot chicks."

Fucking 49ers. They better not make the Superbowl and make it about boring defense. 49ers vs Ravens UGH!

It needs to be Packers Patriots and their 31st and 32nd ranked defenses!

It's pretty awesome that the Superbowl falls on Waitangi day.

I will be sorta shocked if the Patriots don't make the SB, they seem to have peaked perfectly.

Prolly be a repeat vs the Giants, although i don't care if its the 49'ers for the Brady drama.
Funnily enough i read a few things from some people saying the Giants were their pic to win the SB at the start of the playoffs, had taken their advice in a few winnings pics over the year....i shoulda dusted a cheeky 10.

I did give my mate the Patriots as one of his birthday bets though, so i hope they win for him.

Yeah the hot teams going into the playoffs always seem to do good, in recent years anyway. The Giants pass rush is coming together at the right time again so they could trouble the Pats. Although this time he has more short range targets rather than needing time in 07 to bomb it to Moss and Stallworth.

Baltimore Ravens:

Just as the defense is on the brink of extinction:

they get Boldin, Stallworth and Houshmandzadeh;
Marty ball jump-off depth(Rice, McGahee, McClain);
Rice OTR and most importantly Flacco OTR.

Image - although despite shaking my head, this team across the board is gonna' be a PROBLEM this year.

San Fransisco 49ers:

Singletary's Bears D mentality; Willis, Spikes, Goldson, Clements, Mays etc etc. Troy Smith + Ginn. Gore. Westbrook. Crabtree. Davis. QB depth. The only thing that can really hold this team back is Alex Smith. If dude can stay healthy and put out production like the off-season moves/Smith's UPSIDE off-season, suggest - the 49ers will be a PROBLEM this year too.

Another day, another SB

WAHOOOOOOO!!!

gutted for Cundiff though :(

Quote:
Baltimore Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff will go down in NFL infamy with one of the most embarrassing and ill-timed shanked field goals in the history of football.

This is the memory that will haunt Cundiff for the rest of his life. This is the chance that the Ravens may never get back.

He absolutely shattered the hopes and dreams of Ravens fans all over the globe, while simultaneously propelling the New England Patriots to yet another Super Bowl.

All he had to do was make a 32-yard field goal.

To be fair, it was in no-way routine given the circumstances and everything that was at stake, but there is no doubting that it was a make-able kick for a player who was in the Pro Bowl last season.

Down 23-20 all he had to do was make it, and at the very least the Ravens would have had the chance to win the game in overtime.

At the very least they would have had the chance.

Cundiff dropped his head in shame, and the Ravens sideline looked on in what can only be described as stunned horror as the kick was shanked wide-left.

Twitter exploded and the cameras panned over the two very contrasting sidelines.

It's a moment that fanbases of both teams will never forget, but for two very different reasons.

Brady and the Patriots got the ball back and proceeded to take the all-familiar victory formation, and just like that they secured their place in the Super Bowl with a 23-20 win.

The Ravens stared off into space with glossy looks in their eyes. So close yet so far.

While the storylines in this game are many and it comes down to far more than a missed field goal, that ball flailing to the left of the uprights will always be the lasting image from this game.

Fair or not, Cundiff will be the scapegoat for any problem the Ravens organization will face for years to come.

He will be hated by Ravens fans and mocked by all other fanbases.

Even though his coach and teammates will support him, they will all know deep in their hearts that he cost them their chance.

All he had to do was make a kick...

I think the Giants are a more than decent shot to beat them again.
Don't have any stats or anything to back that up, its just a feeling really.

I hope the Patriots win for my mates bet though :D

That post is the American Football-equivalent of an 18th century soliloquy on the state of society - which still applies to society in the 21st century.

Shakespeare would be proud.

Monday is THE day. :D excite! been a while   been watching alot of Sportscenter this week. Bill Parcells did a special SB deconstruction. 8) and a few NFL Films Presents. old footage FTW - massif shoulder pads

My Madden Superbowl is Pats vs Saints. Saints made it through 23-21 over Vikes. I missed a FG but it was given :? after hitting the crossbar to go from 7-0 to 10-0 in the 2nd quarter. Controversial!
