I can appreciate the logic in spacing out your bets into single bets if you are winning, rather than combining them into one multi, because the payout is the same. But then your argument is just anti-multis in general, which is really another matter entirely.

Yes it was. My point was don't commit yourself to something when it's not necessary.

JR wrote:
Taking your winnings and automatically reinvesting them in another bet is not. Because eventually you're going to lose, and when you do, you lose everything.

This is effectively what you do when you commit yourself to an isolated multi leg unnecessarily-it's as automatic a reinvestment as you can get. If you don't attach yourself to an additional isolated multi leg, you can choose whether to put all of your winnings on tonight's game, some of it, or none at all.

Well if that's your tactic then as I said, you might as well give up on multis altogether. Is any leg of a multi really 'necessary'?

It's all very well in hindsight, now that these guys are 5/5 (already having received some considerable luck already obviously) to say they shouldn't have included that 6th leg, and given themelves an option. I'm sure we've all been down that road. But as I said, where do you draw the line, if they were 3/3 would you discourage them from putting Origin as a 4th leg? Or a 3rd? Your method works well in theory but rarely in reality, because as I said, unless they are rich and/or stupid, they won't have reached this point of sitting on $90k to begin with.

It doesn't matter to me whether it was planned to be 2 legs.

I would just bet it, then reinvest before the next game after the first has resulted if i can.
Simple as that.
Why leave it to chance when you have the option to control it yourself.

I'm not calling them idiots, i'm just saying its not the smartest way to do it IMO.

Although i will argue doing a 10k 6 leg multi is kinda idiotic :P and definitely very degen.
Good for all of them though, i hope they clean up.

Yeah look I'm not saying doing a 6-leg 10k multi is particularly smart to begin with, but then again for all we know it could be chump change for this person.

Anyway...., time to think about what I'm gonna do tonight I guess.

Not at all-multis on games happening at the same time, or directly after the other makes sense, especially moreso if you're betting at the shop. Or if you're betting on a bunch of games played outside operating hours.

Saturday nights are packed with events that overlap.
I do multis over the rugby and league games that are on at the same time, then stop.....and redo them on the later ones to what i want.

Its sucks that the TAB isn't 24 hours because having to take bets over multiple things (that are spread out overseas) because they all close at 23:59 here blows :P

I know you are not saying this, but it wouldn't matter anyway.

I hope the person heavily supports some charities, because a lot of these multi's will be like burning money :?

$22 if QLD win by 1-6
$17.30 if QLD win by 7-12
$3.80 if QLD win by 13+
$32.50 if NSW win by 1-6
$27.80 if NSW win by 7-12
$8.30 is NSW win by 13+

Then if total points is 21-30 is a extra $4.50 or if between 31-40 is an extra $2.80

So from a betting POV i want NSW to win by 1-6 but personally i want QLD to win haha

Talk about covering my bases HAHA

Why bother betting haha, you may come out better off but most likely you will come out even. Its like taking the field to run 2nd to the favourite in a quinella at the dogs!

I was talking to a guy at the gym tonight who said he has $400 on QLD to win. I was all 'Yeah, easy money.' Probably jinxed it for him now. And then I had to try and top him with my 'Uh, I've got like $5 on Inglis or Slater for FTS, so yeah.'
