Man I remember D.E.K.A being where RedAnt is now in Porirua, also Farmers was right next door if im correct. Farmers in North city used to be Foodtown, the Cafe opposite Whitcoulls I think was the frozen section if I'm not mistaken.

New World used to be the Bus terminal with a huge grass island in the middle. K mart was just K mart and a few shops, North City Mall was just being built and there was an old bridge with traffic lights at either end where the motorway bridge to cannons creek is. Georgie Pie used to be in the vacant lot where the drive through Mcds is. Mcds used to be the most popular mcds in town where it used to be.

Porirua actually had Christmas parades back when, late nineties they replaced it with the garbage canopies Christmas thing. Canopies werent there and most of the shops weren't either. Mega Centre was just a dream in someone mind then. Target and Bunnings Warehouse weren't there. and all this was while I was growing up in Elsdon near Titahi Bay.

It annoyed me how the ultra combo went "ULTRA ULTRA ULTRA ULTRA" instead of "ULLLLLLLLLLLLTRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA COOOOOOOMMMMMMMBOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" like the arcade.
I'm gonna get a KI arcade one day, i used to burn an hour when waiting for the bus after school by clocking that at Hoyts down here.

Anyway DEKA stories, i remember getting evil looks from the staff at DEKA for playing the Master System so much.
I also remember paying off Master System games on lay by there.[/baller]

Remember when the WINZ building was the old Warehouse?! Good times.

I still remember my mum taking me to the Warehouse one morning and buying me the new Sega Mega Drive. But then I had to go to school. Twas the looooongest day ever.

I use to work in the DEKA that was in Tri Angle Centre years ago and in fact brought my first brand new, rather than ex rental from video store, NWA videos (Chi Town Rumble & Wrestle War 89) from there. Got a nice staff discount to. Was there only 2 weeks before my inability to do anything right resulted in me being "relocated" to the storeroom, where I wasted little time in ruining the storeroom roller door. Yeah, I managed to quit before I could be fired.

I remember the first McDonalds in NZ..it was out at Porirua..used to be a big thing to go all the way out there to get a burger. It was in the mid to late 70's so I was about 13/14 before I tried McDonalds for the first time. I remember the first time I had McDonalds, my best mates big sister took us out there in her car..an Anglia
