IPW returns to Auckland at Breaking Point!
Mar 20, 2006 at 03:44 PM

After taking the show on the road earlier this month at Capital Punishment, Impact Pro Wrestling returns home to the Lynfield YMCA to deliver the hottest independent wrestling action this side of the Bombay Hills.

Fresh from his heartstopping title defence against NZWPW's H-Flame, IPW Champion "Heartless" Alfred Valentine will face off against Smack Industries' Jon E. King in one of the most hotly anticipated matches that IPW could have possibly booked. Originally, the Machine had been scheduled to face HAV, but an injury has seen him step aside and it is the brash King - arguably the greatest IPW wrestler never to have worn the national title - who has snatched the title opportunity with both hands.

Juice Overcomes Former Friend In Otaki
Mar 17, 2006 at 06:56 PM

A raucous crowd was on hand as NZWPW hit Otaki this past Friday night presenting St Patrick’s Day Bash. The first NZWPW event to be held in Otaki was headlined by a massive double main event the first half of which saw reigning NZWPW champion, Juice taking on long time nemesis and former friend Inferno.

The Otaki memorial hall was on fire for the challenger as both men squared off mid ring in the 8th meeting between the 2 men. Juice proved why he is champion from the get go slowing the larger Inferno down with three consecutive side headlock take over’s before locking in a side headlock to ground the big man.

Juice kept the pressure on Inferno with yet another side headlock and even resorting to pulling the challengers hair. Inferno was not to be put down that easily though as he fought back, outwitting the champion with a series of leapfrogs which sent the champion to the outside. Once back in the ring Juice continued the pressure by locking in a set of hammer locks, trying to disable the big mans arm to prevent the Afterburner chokeslam. Inferno however proved his skill as he was able to reverse Juice’s armlocks into his own armbar and followed it up with a massive legdrop.

Juice proved however he had his opponent well scouted as he avoided a massive elbow drop from the big man. With both men now back to square one the champion called for a test of strength. Juice took the early advantage but both men proved their knowledge of each other as they exchanged monkey flips mid ring both looking for the elusive 3 count. The reversals continued as both challenger and champion began exchanging sleeper holds before reverting back into the roll ups. Juice had had enough at this point and blasted the challenger with a powerful superkick.

Two former NZWPW champions set to debut for MIW!
Mar 13, 2006 at 04:45 PM

Wellington's loss is Australia's gain as former NZWPW champions Island Boy Si and X-Rated debut for Major Impact Wrestling this Saturday night at the Southport Basketball Stadium in Queensland!

Having last appeared at IPW's Capital Punishment show two weeks ago, IBS will face off against New Zealand's own Cruz, while X-Rated will meet Obie. There is no doubt that X-Rated and IBS's fans will follow their fortunes in Australia with keen interest.

Also appearing on the card is another name familiar to New Zealand fans; former IPW champion Mason Childs, who will pit his cruiserweight skills against Slick Rick Johnson. Childs last appeared in New Zealand at IPW's New Year's Bash event in January, where he was defeated by Lyte Playa.
