I knew it, I knew it, I knew it

I knew the bookers would botch WrestleMania.  I knew they would play it safe and I know what I'm saying is as predictable as a Black Caps batting collapse but thankfully bad decision making is starting to haunt ‘Vanilla Vince'.

Raw's ratings are rubbish and it's got nothing to do with the NBA Finals which are on at the moment.  Look at the product!  They have taken their eye off the ball in a greedy grab for new revenue streams.  Has three hour Raw worked?  Nearly 12 months on you'd have to say "absolutely not".  The product has been diluted.  It's full of recaps and endorsements.  It's become something you watch on MY SKY to fast forward through and what is actually there?  Not much, ignoring the on old television adage: "less is more".

Making The Most Of What You've Got

In last week's Gimme 5 I might've said something about having gone a bit cold on the local wrestling scene lately, and that I might be thinking about writing a blog about it.  Well, that remark raised an eyebrow or two, it seemed.  Here and there questions have been asked, tweets tweeted, messages sent, wondering what I was thinking, wondering what that blog might contain.

Would I put the boot in?  Call out sham wrestlers and shambolic promotions?  Who might I offend, who might I blame?  What shows, what promotion caused me to go cold?  Would I, as a fellow NZPWI correspondent asked, write something that'd kill off the hard work this website's done over the last decade to help build and promote the scene?

No. Of course not. This is not that blog.

A History of Hell
Written by Blake Leitch

There are dozens, maybe hundreds of match-type variations in the world of professional wrestling. Some take pure wrestling skill to win; some require blood to be spilt; some turn caged athletes into ruthless animals; some are just plain stupid (see Vince Russo); and some can only be won with endurance, desire, and heart.

There is one match in WWE that builds on a number of these traits, one match that is so career-changing, so violent, and requires such endurance that it has only been fought in three times: the Three Stages of Hell match.

However, for the first time in their careers, John Cena and Ryback will face off in the fourth match of this kind at WWE Payback. Who will win the WWE Championship bout in the coming weeks? What will it take to win this brutal match? Let's look at the tale of the tape.
