IBS was able to complete a clean sweep over Death Sentence this past Saturday as NZWPW's Invasion tour took over Wellington High School. The already explosive Title match was made into a no disqualification lumberjack match earlier in the night by commissioner Rip Morgan as a move to finally counter Death Sentences constant interferance. So with Adam Hunt, IPW's Dal Knox, The Ram, X Rated, Juice, Rip Morgan, Max Damage, Creed, Dan Stirling and IPW's The Machine surrounding the ring the 2 men squared off to deafening IBS chants. After locking up IBS quickly found himself on the ground. A second lock up produced the same result as The Punisher took over with a huge bodyslam knocking the wind out of the champion. IBS was not to be denied however and fought back with 2 rapid armdrags allowing him to catch The Punisher off guard and lock in a modified armlock as IBS chants shook the rafters.
IBS soon found himself outside the ring however thanks to a thumb to the eye by The Punisher, fortunately he landed on the friendly side and was helped up by Creed and Inferno and rolled back into the ring only to be met with a Punisher snapmare into a rear naked choke. The fans were able to will IBS back from the brink of submission however as the island boy was able to connect with a series of elbows to the gut of The Punisher followed by 2 huge dropkicks that sent The Punisher outside the ring into the waiting arms of Death Sentence. An obviously frustrated Punisher proceeded to destroy the steel steps outside the ring before rolling back into the ring.
Once settled The Punisher was able to take control with a series of right hands knocking the champ down and leaving him unable to stand under his own power. With The Punisher's help IBS regained his standing and suddenly exploded with a huge clothesline that wasn't enough to knock the challenger down yet a second powerful shot finally put The Punisher down to the mat. With the challenger reeling IBS sent The Punisher into the corner and unloaded with 10 huge right hands. With The Punisher nearly out IBS took the time to show off his dance moves. When he finally turned round The Punisher was ready however and looked set to finish IBS with a massive powerslam but the cunning over stayer was able to reverse the momentum and land on top for the 3 count. After the bell however all hell broke loose with the locker room emotions towards Death Sentence finally boiling over prompting a massive brawl all over the ring and in The Machine's and The Punisher's case all the way to the back. In the end however it was the champion IBS standing tall once again. The final leg of Invasion also saw the crowning of new New Zealand Tag Team champions in Max Damage and Inferno over The Ram and X Rated after Max Damage was finally allowed into the match and killed X Rated with a huge spinebuster to claim the belts for himself and Inferno. In the much anticipated match between IPW stars Dal Knox and The Machine, Knox was able to pick up the 3 count despite enduring a Machine Head as well as a brutal beat down at the hands of one of the most hardcore superstars in New Zealand today. The show also saw the debut of the Red Corner with Ivan Dragunov, which saw his original guest Shining Nick Silver get destroyed by former announcer Adam Hunt who promised to destroy his announcing partner Blair Rhodes come November 4th.
NZWPW Invasion Show 3 Match Results: - NOS .def Creed
In the opening bout of the night the 2 friends took each other to the limit with Creed continuously looking to ground the high flying NOS. In the end however NOS used his lightening quick speed to reverse Creed's attempt at a scissor kick into the Overdrive (Michinokou Driver).
- Jean Miracle Vs Dan "The Man" Stirling - Double Submission
In the most even match up of the night both men went back and forth trading the advantage several times. With Stirling out striking him Miracle took "The Man" down and locked in a single leg knee bar but Stirling refused to tap and locked in his own. Despite both men holding on the match was ruled a double submission after referee Roneel was unable to distinguish what man submitted first.
- Mickey .def Anna Lisa
It would again prove the numbers game that would allow Mickey to defeat Anna Lisa. With Roneel distracted by Juice, Stevey slipped into the ring and preceded to knock Anna Lisa out cold after slamming her into the mat, after pulling Mickey over the top the 3 count was all but academic.
- NZ Tag Team Title Match
Inferno/Max Damage .def The Ram/X Rated With the New Zealand Tag Team Title's on the line all 4 men held nothing back in this thrilling contest. From the outset it appeared the belts would be going home with Death Sentence, as both men were able to isolate Inferno from his corner. When Max Damage finally got the tag he made short work of both men quickly winning the belts with a massive Spinebuster.
- Dal Knox .def The Machine
In the battle of IPW stars both men held nothing back with Knox quickly taking advantage of the Machine outside the ring. Yet The Machine came back with a huge Machine Head (double underhook elevated piledriver), which nearly secured the victory for him. Yet Knox showed his resiliency and came back with an impressive Knox Out (Gutwrench to spinning neckbreaker) for the win.
- Juice .def H-Flame
Juice carried on his impressive winning streak with a surprise win over the returning H-Flame. Despite enduring a brutal beat down for much of the match Juice was able to surprise the returning star with a simply squeezed (Roll The Dice) out of nowhere to gain the pin. After the match however Juice was left lying after suffering a massive H Bomb (Pumphandle Slam) at the hands of a bitter H-Flame.
- No Disqualification Lumberjack Match for the NZWPW Heavyweight Title Match
IBS .def The Punisher With nearly the entire NZWPW locker room surrounding the ring the 2 behemoths of NZWPW collided in the ring. After a back and forth battle IBS was able to reverse the momentum of a Punisher powerslam to land on the top of the challenger for the 3 count and complete a clean sweep over all of Death Sentences members.
