Juice Captures Gold At NZWPW Eruption II
Nov 04, 2005 at 07:44 PM

A night of surprises was capped off with Juice finally capturing the NZWPW Heavyweight Title off Island Boy Si and joining Max Damage and Inferno in wearing the belts in NZWPW this past Friday night at NZWPW Eruption II.

With a weakened IBS defending his belt in a triple threat elimination match after being assaulted earlier in the night the stakes were high for both H-Flame and Juice as all three men squared off to deafening IBS chants.

Juice showed his cunning in the early stages by attacking the injured arm of the champion nearly wrenching the arm from its socket as H-Flame calmly looked on. IBS showed his tenacity from the get go however as he fought out of the painful submission type manuver to send Juice flying with a huge shoulderblock.

H-Flame then made his presence felt assaulting both IBS and Juice before placing both men into a corner and nailing two huge splashes. With IBS all but out H-Flame nailed his other challenger with a modified powerslam before locking in a camel clutch followed by a huge dropkick to the face of Juice.

With both men firmly under control H-Flame sucked it up and nearly knocked Juice out cold with a massive rolling sunset flip powerbomb only to have the ensuing cover broken up by IBS.

With the other two men distracted Juice suddenly fired up on both men, nailing H-Flame with an impressive suplex, which allowed IBS to try and sneak in with a cover, yet H-Flame kicked out at the count of two.

An enraged Juice then snapped the champions arm over the top rope further damaging it and meaning the champ now not only had to defend his belt against two men but with one hand as well. Juice quickly followed up with a side Russian legsweep, but H-Flame refused to stay down and slowed Juice down with a modified sleeper hold that gave IBS the chance he had been looking for.

The popular over stayer fired up with elbows on both men, dominating for the first time during the match. Just as things were going his way IBS was sent flying into the exposed turnbuckle by Juice. Juice looked to capitalise with the Simply Squeezed (Roll The Dice) but the champion was able to reverse that into a huge powerbomb that shook the ring.

Despite this the elusive third man, H-Flame made his presence known locking the champion into a painful triangle choke working over the injured arm. With Juice down the way was clear for IBS and H-Flame to square off until IBS nailed Island Time (Rock Bottom) out of nowhere to eliminate the newly returned star.

Juice was quick to capitalise as he blindsided IBS into the exposed turnbuckle and nearly cut the champ in half with a running shoulder tackle. Once again though, IBS proved why he was champion nailing a huge piledriver, which left both men down gasping for air.

IBS was the first man to regain a stable base and signalled for the running thump in the corner yet Juice defied the odds by using referee Woodgate as a shield, which left the contest without a referee. Suddenly IBS nailed Juice with a modified version of Island Time yet with no referee it didn't do him much good.

As IBS went to revive referee Woodgate The Ram hit the ring to nail the champion with a stunner. As if that wasn't enough H-Flame returned to ringside and nailed IBS with the H-Bomb (Pumphandle Slam). With both men down The Ram pulled Juice on top of the Island Boy for the 3 count and the NZWPW Heavyweight Title despite being barely conscious

Eruption II also saw the New Zealand Tag Team Champions, Inferno and Max Damage retain their titles over the newly formed alliance of The Ram and Creed. Despite their best efforts the sheer power of Damage and Inferno was too much for the new team to overcome as they fell prey to a combination spinebuster/Afterburner (Chokeslam) combination.  The long time rivalry between NZWPW announcers Blair Rhodes and Adam Avalanche finally came to blows at Eruption II as both men squared off for the first time. Rhodes would take the win via a disqualification after Avalanche crushed referee Roneel with an Avalanche and proceeded to choke Rhodes out until Ivan Druganov made the save. Eruption II also saw a rematch from the Invasion tour as Dangerous Dan "The Man" Sterling defeated Jean Miracle after forcing Miracle to tap out to the Bridging Dan Death lock.

NZWPW Eruption II Results:

  • The Saint .def NOS
In the battle of the masked superstars The Saint would eventually roll up NOS using NOS's pants for leverage after being on the receiving end of some high flying punishment at the hands of the agile superstar.

  • Dan "The Man" Sterling .def Jean Miracle
In a rematch from the Invasion tour which saw both men tap out to leglocks at the same time Sterling proved his superiority as he forced Miracle to tap out midring to his Dan Deathlock.

  • Disturbed .def Shining Nick Silver
In one of the most even matches of the night the deranged one proved just how dangerous he can be as he polished the Shining One off with the Pitstop (Flying Elbow) after a back and forth battle. After the match however Disturbed was choked out by commissioner Rip Morgan after refusing to stop attacking Silver with a chain after the bell.

  • Chrome .def Creed
The martial arts master Creed never really got out of the starting blocks in this match as Chrome kept the advantage before finishing the match with a huge spinebuster. After the match however Creed joined forces with Death Sentence's The Ram in beating down the popular star.

  • Blair Rhodes .def Adam Avalanche
As tension in the NZWPW announcing booth boiled over Rhodes escaped with a win over the much larger Avalanche via disqualification after Avalanche nearly cut referee Roneel in half with an Avalanche. With Druganov having to run in and run the arrogant Avalanche off it is safe to say this rivalry is far from over.

  • Triple Threat Elimination Match For The NZWPW Heavyweight Championship
    Juice .def IBS & H-Flame

In what can best be described, as an all out war Juice was able to walk away with the big gold belt. After being eliminated earlier in the match H-Flame returned to the ring after referee Woodgate was knocked out to crush IBS with a massive H-Bomb (Pumphandle Slam), which allowed The Ram to drape a nearly unconscious Juice on top for the 3 count.

  • New Zealand Tag Team Championship
    Max Damage/Inferno .def The Ram/Creed

With the newly formed alliance between The Ram and Creed working well early on it appeared that the champions titles could be in trouble. In the end however it was the combination of a Max Damage Spinebuster and Afterburner Chokeslam that allowed the champions to retain their titles.
