 D-Hoya bounced off the ropes, and gyrated around before delivering a
leg drop to Jean Miracle’s arm. “Silencer” grabbed at his wounded
appendage, which left his abdomen wide open for an awesome cartwheel
splash! With SJM still down, D-Hoya began to stomp his feet to the tune
of ‘We Will Rock You’, and with the crowd’s support, another leg drop
was attempted. However, all the banging around seemed to revive
Miracle, who rolled away from Hoya’s attack. Both men got back to their
feet, and Miracle took D-Hoya to the corner, before hauling him out of
the corner, grinding his face along the top rope. D-Hoya was brutalised
along two of the ring ropes, before he ducked down under SJM, and
thrust his body up with explosive power.The fans got closer to the action than they had ever expected, as “Silencer” flew through the air with precision and grace, before landing violently on the outside of the ring, mere centimetres away from some of the younger members of the audience. The fans scampered away, and D-Hoya dropped to the outside, to stand Miracle up. As soon as SJM worked out where he was, he leapt to the ring apron, and then leapt back towards D-Hoya, attempting a hurricanrana. D-Hoya’s power proved to be too much though, when he caught “Silencer” on his shoulders, and absolutely annihilated him with a sit-down powerbomb! 
D-Hoya climbed back into the ring, and when “Silencer” eventually
returned as well, the action hadn’t lost a step. Both men fired up
again like the match had just begun, and after throwing a few wild
running strikes, Miracle took the match to the mat with a drop toehold.
D-Hoya covered his face, and “Silencer” rolled him up for a near fall.
D-Hoya rolled his shoulders off the mat, but Miracle used Hoya’s
momentum to roll through into another pinning attempt. This time,
D-Hoya showcased his strength when he bridged out, and rolled through
into a pinning attempt of his own. This time, Miracle rolled through
and scored another near fall, before D-Hoya rolled the hold back to pin
“Silencer” for a two count. A few more quick pins were traded, before
SJM leapt to the middle rope, and flung himself backwards with a
cross-body press.The move was right on target, so much so that D-Hoya was able to catch “Silencer”, before hoisting him into position, and delivering a K-Kwon Bomb! Hoya began to stamp his feet on the mat, and with everyone in the packed audience behind him, he connected with a ‘We Will Rock You’ leg drop. Jean Miracle kicked out of a pinning attempt, and the two regained their footing, before tying up. D-Hoya broke the grapple, and shot himself off the ropes, before drilling SJM with a Liquidiser shin kick! Hoya remained in control, and atomic dropped “Silencer”, before he connected with another massive move, which lead to a near fall. 
D-Hoya began to haul SJM to his feet, but Miracle took advantage of the
referee’s position and punished Hoya’s groin with a low blow. D-Hoya
bend over in pain, and “Silencer” sized him up, before sending him
flying with an intense running knee. Miracle stood D-Hoya up, but
before he had the chance to do anything, Hoya leapt into the air, and
rolled through into a sunset flip pinning attempt. Senior Official
Roneel reached a two count, and “Silencer” shifted his centre of
gravity, to roll back onto D-Hoya’s shoulders, and pin him for only a
two. D-Hoya rolled through into another pinning attempt, as did
“Silencer”, as did D-Hoya again. D-Hoya’s stamina seemed to be taking
more of a beating than SJM’s, as Miracle was the first to his feet, and
signalled to fans that D-Hoya was about to suffer a Spin Doctor.The crowd watched in awe, as D-Hoya regained a vertical base, only for SJM to charge straight at him, before corkscrewing into a cross-body press! A pinning attempt was made, but D-Hoya’s shoulder left the mat at just two. Unconvinced he had connected with the move as well as he could have, “Silencer” began to run the ropes again, before nailing Hoya with another picture perfect Spin Doctor. With things clearly going his way, Miracle stood D-Hoya back up, positioned him correctly, and drove him into the canvas with his patented Screwdriver! SJM draped his arm over the down and out D-Hoya, and Senior Official Roneel began to count the fall. Shockingly, D-Hoya kicked out, with Roneel’s hand just millimetres from counting the three! “Sielncer” couldn’t believe it, so set D-Hoya up for another violent Screwdriver, only for D-Hoya to wriggle free of Miracle’s grasp, and take control with a modified butterfly suplex. 
Now that the match was in D-Hoya’s favour, with the crowd behind him,
he powered “Silencer” into a military press position, before dropping
him down into an amazing End of D-World! Miraculously, SJM kicked out
from the devastating finishing move, with a similar degree of closeness
to Hoya’s escape of the Screwdriver. With both men now having taken
their opponent’s best, and lived to tell the tale, they took the match
back to the start, and began to bounce off the ropes, frantically
trying to connect with a devastating blow. Both men threw clotheslines,
which were ducked by the other, before Miracle looked to take D-Hoya’s
head clean off with a Dismissile Kick! Thankfully, D-Hoya ducked under
the vicious kick, and grabbed Miracle for some sort of suplex. As both
men grappled to be in control of the hold, D-Hoya suddenly dropped to
the ground, which subsequently rolled “Silencer” into a small package!
Miracle flailed his legs about, but D-Hoya’s grip was too strong, and
SJM could do nothing more than remain on the mat as Roneel counted to
three, giving D-Hoya the victory and #1 Contendership in a truly
spectacular match.NZWPW Bringing Down the House Results: Special Referee - Silky Love Sandstorm def. Infinity NZWPW Generation Next referee Jayce had undergone a makeover of sorts, and came to the ring wearing silky pink pyjamas over his usual ‘Corporal Punishment’ camouflaged attire. Sandstorm began the match working over Infinity’s arm, and when Infinity escaped the hold with a series of arm drags, Sandstorm began to wrap Infinity’s arm around the ring ropes. Silky Love attempted to break the hold, and Sandstorm became irate, screaming at the referee to “Get out of my face!” Silky Love slacked off, and Sandstorm attempted a Boston crab on Infinity. Infinity rolled through though, and Axe kicked the Karori Desert native. Before a three could be counted, Sandstorm leapt to his feet and synched in a Dragon Sleeper on Infinity. The hold didn’t keep Infinity down, but a huge Powerslam would, and Sandstorm won the match despite his issues with Silky Love. Generation Next Rematch Harry Peters def. Joker In a rematch from their previous encounter on December the 8th, the youngest members of the NZWPW Roster showed how much they had improved their skills since their debut match. Joker captivated the fans when he had Peters on the ground, and ran the ropes before attempting a headbutt, in a move he calls the People’s Eyebrow. The two exchanged some more hold, before Harry Peters slipped when climbing onto the ropes, and Joker rolled him up for a two count. Harry sensed he may be in danger, so hit Joker with a massive dropkick, sending him through the ropes to the outside of the ring. Joker rolled back in, but he was disorientated, and Harry Peters had no problem leaping into the air and catching the Little Joker with a swinging neck breaker to secure his first victory in NZWPW. Rufguts def. Dream Catcher Rufguts - a new addition to the NZWPW Roster, and a rubbish man by day - showed his true colours early in the match, repetitively choking out Dream Catcher. When Catcher escaped the merciless Oxygen deprivation, he flew through the air and hit Rufguts with a Stinger Splash in the corner. The advantage was short lived though, and soon Rufguts fused a camel and cobra clutch to wear down the master of the Woodcutter. Rufguts tried to keep his advantage, but Dream Catcher fluked a bulldog, and dove to the outside of the ring, before retreating to the safety of below the ring. Rufguts gazed on, unaware that Dream Catcher had re-appeared on the other side of the ring, and was now behind him. Catcher blew Dream Dust into Rufguts’ eyes, and hit a modified Woodcutter on the NZWPW Rookie. When Dream Catcher tried to scoop slam the big man, Rufguts’ weight proved to be too great, and Dream Catcher ended up being pinned when he fell backwards. After the match, Dream Catcher uncharacteristically stormed off backstage, quite upset with his miscalculation. Women’s Tag Team Match Matariki & Lady T w/ Rehua def. Angel of Destruction & Misty The highly anticipated return of Women’s competition to NZWPW delivered all it promised and more, as the full He Toa Gym cheered and screamed for their favourite ladies. Lady T and Misty began the match, both showing they had no problems holding their own in the ring, before Misty made the tag to Angel of Destruction, who dominated the action - much to the fans’ delight. The match continued on, and saw Lady T hit an impressive hurricanrana on Misty, Misty power slam Matariki, and AOD delight the fans with her in ring ability. In the closing moments of the match, Misty attempted to power slam Matariki yet again, but when Lady T kicked Angel of Destruction to the outside, and then kicked out Misty’s knee, Matariki scored the victory for her team. Despite taking a two on one predicament to score the victory over their team, AOD and Misty exchanged some heated words in the middle of the ring, before Dream Catcher arrived at ringside to escort an angry Angel to the back. O’Siris def. Corporal Punishment Seemingly morphing between personas, Jayce came to the ring, sans silky pyjamas, and demanded a match against a man who should have been easy pickings - the bizarre newcomer O’Siris. O’Siris proved to be anything but that, when he showed that despite his bumbling appearance, he could connect with some impressive moves, including the Diamond Dust! With the Corporal down, O’Siris picked up his first NZWPW victory. After the match, Sandstorm - who had been watching from ringside - gave in to the fans’ demands and assaulted Jayce. Commentator Jimmy Sparx then announced that fans would see Sandstorm vs. Corporal Punishment at the next NZWPW event. #3 Contender’s Match CD def. Anarchy The match started with the crowd divided on who to support, but morphed to the entire audience being in support of Anarchy. CD began with a series of power moves, including a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, and a bear hug. Anarchy took control with an amazing back-flip-arm-drag, and followed up with a side Russian leg sweep and then a release T-Bone suplex! Anarchy hauled CD to his feet, but CD quickly hoisted Anarchy into the air, and annihilated him with a Falcon’s Arrow! The crowd willed on Anarchy, but CD kept him down with a military gut-buster, and the threw him into the air with a release German suplex. CD attempted to cross body press Anarchy from the second rope, but Anarchy connected with a perfect dropkick to CD’s sternum. CD got back to his feet, and Anarchy sized him up for an AOK. However, CD slipped out of the hold, and tossed Anarchy onto his shoulder to deliver a huge Touchdown, and successfully become the #3 Contender. Before CD could celebrate his victory though, Jimmy Sparx hit the ring and took him out, before turning his attention to Anarchy. Thankfully, CD came back and nailed Sparx with a Spear, before rolling him backwards and hoisting him into the air, for Anarchy to grab him and hit an AOK. Company T (Rehua & Tank w/ Matariki) def. The Dark Alliance (Axl & Balthazar) In a battle of extreme hard hitters, Company T scored a victory over the Dark Alliance. Axl had to come to Balthazar’s aid several times in the match, breaking up pinfalls after Tank nailed his opponent with some stiff clotheslines. Midway through the match, Rehua showcased his new skills when he tied Axl up in a modified surfboard hold, and almost caused the man from the dark side to give up. However, the best was yet to come, as in the closing moments of the match, Rehua scooped Balthazar up, feet-to-head, belly-to-back, and looked set to deliver a devastating move. Axl clambered over the top rope to prevent the move, and kicked out Rehua’s knee. In doing so, Rehua fell down, and Balthazar fell victim to a Thunderchild Driver! Tank entered the ring, and engaged in a shoving contest, before overpowering Axl and shoving him to the outside. With no-one to save him, Balthazar suffered another brutal Thuderchild Driver, and Company T scored a very decisive victory. NZWPW New Zealand Heavyweight Championship Adam Avalanche def. “Dangerous” Dan Stirling In a battle of Pro Wrestling Champion versus Kickboxing Champion, Adam Avalanche dominated in the early going when he choked out Stirling on the top rope, and then synched in an excruciating chin lock. Dan Stirling began to fade, but used the fans’ support to get back to his feet, and sent shockwaves through Avalanche with a shoulder block to back the Champion into the corner, before hammering away at him with some kickboxing strikes. Adam Avalanche managed to trade positions with Dan, and squashed him into the turnbuckle with a massive splash. Adam remained in control, and choked out Dan again, before shoving away Senior Official Roneel when he objected to Adam’s rule breaking. Dan Stirling grabbed at Adam Avalanche, and attempted to lift him up, but couldn’t handle Adam’s superior posterior, and found himself crushed to the canvas by the Champion. Adam nailed Dan with a backbreaker, but took too much time showboating, and “Dangerous” Dan was able to hook in a Sleeper hold on the mountain of a man. Avalanche used his great ring presence to back Stirling into the turnbuckle, and then power slammed the challenger. Dan was then subjected to an Oklahoma Slam, and almost got hit with a Five Knuckle Shuffle. Suddenly, “Shining” Nick Silver appeared at ringside, and tripped Dan up to stop him connecting with anything more than a DDT on the Champion. Adam Avalanche was quick to get back to his feet, and as Dan ran off the ropes away from Nick Silver, Avalanche grabbed the challenger and hit a huge Wave of the Avalanche, to successfully retain his Championship. #1 Contender’s Match D-Hoya def. “Silencer” Jean Miracle In the most anticipated match in the New Zealand Pro Wrestling Scene for quite some time, D-Hoya and “Silencer” Jean Miracle put on a contest that was everything right with Pro Wrestling. Both men put it all on the line, and busted out all their signature moves, including the Spin Doctor, the Screwdriver, the Dismissile Kick, the Liquidiser, the K-Kwon Bomb, and even the End of D-World! In the end, D-Hoya proved that sometimes, the basics are the best, when he bundled “Silencer” into a small package, and earned the rights to the #1 Contendership to the New Zealand Heavyweight Championship! |
NZWPW Faithful were treated to a spectacular showdown between D-Hoya
and “Silencer” Jean Miracle at Bringing Down the House just last night.
The two wrestlers - both arguably the best in the promotion - met in
singles action in the Main Event, with the #1 Contendership to the New
Zealand Heavyweight Championship on the line.
