Axl blew his championship match he so dearly wanted against D-Hoya at Colossus when he choked out the champion with a noose, prompting a disqualification. Now it’s D-Hoya who wants the match. And this Saturday, October 6th, in Porirua, the title will be on the line once again as D-Hoya defends against the demonic Axl! Aside from their Colossus confrontation, these two NZWPW giants have only met at Bringing Down the House earlier this year when Adam Avalanche was unable to compete. After a back-and-forth match D-Hoya wowed the audience when he Gorilla pressed Axl right up to the ceiling before slamming him with an End of D-World. Axl then stepped back from the championship picture until he violently attacked D-Hoya during an interview at the He Toa Gym. In their match at Colossus Axl was unsuccessful in taking the gold home. But if it wasn’t for the disqualification ending - could he have done it? Regardless, D-Hoya has volunteered his championship as bait again, and looks to show Axl that he can beat him by pinfall or submission much like their first match. Is this a wise move, or will Axl show everyone in attendance that he has what it takes to become the NZWPW Champion? After the “Right 2 Challenge” match at Colossus was called off, the potential #1 Contenders have had to focus their attention elsewhere. As such, Jimmy Sparx will partner with veteran “Silencer” Jean Miracle to take on “Dream Catcher” Phil Woodgate and Disturbed. The winners of this match will then go on to face Company Gold, with the NZWPW Tag Team Championship on the line. Dan “Da Man” Stirling and Rehua convincingly beat Woodgate and Disturbed at Colossus, but could the bizarre duo’s loss have given them the insight they needed into Company Gold’s game plan in order to win a rematch? And if tensions from R2C don’t boil over between “Silencer” and Sparx, can anyone stop two of NZWPW’s finest singles competitors, keeping in mind that Miracle is a former Tag Team Champion? NZWPW Ringside in the Rua takes place live at the Porirua Kennel Club, Prosser Street, Porirua on Saturday the 6th of October. Doors open at 6pm with the show beginning at 6.30pm. Also, there will be Hot-Rods, Harleys and Hot-Dogs in conjunction with the wrestling to make for a great night out. Tickets are available at the door at a charge of $20 per adult, $15 per child (under 15-years-old) and $50 for a family pass (2 adults and up to 3 children). The card is subject to change.
