D-Hoya put his Championship on the line to coax Axl into another match, and beat him for a third time tonight after rolling him up when the Lucifer’s Gift Chokeslam looked poised to end the match. Also, Infinite Avalanche (Infinity and Adam Avalanche) won the right to challenge for the NZWPW Tag Team Championship by defeating Cam Akaze and Sandstorm, and then went on to crush Dan Stirling with a chair behind the referee’s back and seemingly win the belts! However, as the show concluded and fans began to leave, NZWPW Promoter Martin Stirling announced that he would reverse the decision due to foul play, meaning Company T (in any combination, as it was Tank and Stirling who defended the belts) remain the NZWPW Tag Team Champions.
NZWPW Ringside in the ‘Rua Results: - “Silencer” Jean Miracle & Jimmy Sparx def. “Dream Catcher” Phil Woodgate & Disturbed
“Silencer” had the match won after his Screwdriver neckbreaker, but Jimmy Sparx broke up the pinfall, wanting the glory for himself. After losing a game of paper, scissors, rock to decide who should win for their team, Sparx attacked SJM and walked away from the ring. Miracle continued on without his partner, and came close to a victory, but eventually the borderline groin-strikes coming from Disturbed and “Dream Catcher” gave Miracle a disqualification victory. After the match, Jimmy Sparx returned to the ring and stuffed SJM’s hand between the folds of his chair, and then stomped onto the steel, crushing the hand of “Silencer”. - BBH (Brothers of Bodily Harm) def. Zach Zero & Kamystery
In a rematch from Colossus Zero and Kamystery did no better than they had in Levin, falling victim - yet again - to a huge powerslam from GBH. - Angel of Destruction def. MacBeth
The newcomer to NZWPW’s Women’s Division stood no chance against the Angel of Destruction, who softened MacBeth up with some hard kicks, before a bulldog from the top rope dazed her long enough for AOD to use a victory roll and take the win. After the match, Angel of Destruction gave MacBeth a few more kicks, before heading to the back. - JC Star def. Belthazar
After a standing moonsault, a painful camel clutch and a violent German suplex, the second rematch from Colossus saw JC Star pick up the victory when he was able to connect with an impressive top-rope moonsault that he had been unable to do two weeks ago, leaving Belthazar down and out for the three count. - #1 Contenders’ Match for the NZWPW Tag Team Championship
Infinite Avalanche def. Cam Akaze & Sandstorm When their entrance didn’t go quite to plan, Infinite Avalanche were all fired up and ready to take out their frustrations on the first-time team of Akaze and Sandstorm. Infinity almost won the match with an Infinitizer, but Cam Akaze stepped back and smashed his opponent with a Gory bomb. However, when Infinity kicked out at two and then clipped Cam with the Infinitizer Remix successfully, Adam Avalanche tagged in, Powerbombed Sandstorm and took the victory. - Misty def. Matariki
Riding to the ring on the back of a motorcycle, Misty set the tone for her match - hard and fast. Matariki could hardly defend herself as Misty overpowered her and gave her the Mistifier powerslam, enough to keep anyone down for the three. - Jimmy Sparx def. “Silencer” Jean Miracle
Spawning from their tag team breakdown, Miracle and Sparx had chased each other throughout the building all night, before finally colliding in the ring. SJM caught Sparx in the Screwdriver not long into the match, but Sparx managed to kick out. In order to make sure Miracle wouldn’t do the same, Jimmy then delivered a Sparky’s Bottom, Short Circuit and Sparky’s Bottom in succession to score the win over “Silencer”. - NZWPW Tag Team Championship
Infinite Avalanche def. Company Silver(c) w/ Matariki With Rehua not in the building, Tank was allowed to help Dan Stirling defend the tag team titles. However, when his knee gave out, the match degenerated into a handicap match of sorts. Adam Avalanche untied the turnbuckle padding, and pointed it out to the referee so Infinity could smash a chair across Dan’s back. As “Da Man” stumbled forward he walked right into a Wave of the AValanche, and three seconds later Adam Avalanche and Infinity were holding the Tag Team Championships high. At the end of the night Martin Stirling announced that he had reversed the decision though, and Company T would remain the champions. - NZWPW Heavyweight Championship
D-Hoya (c) def. Axl In the third match between the two D-Hoya was unable to get the win from his K-Kwon Bomb (now known as the Eclipse) or any number of other slams and strikes. However, when he countered Axl’s Lucifer’s Gift Chokeslam into a roll-up, he was able to hold the demonic challenger down for a three count and retain the NZWPW Championship. |
