Eight men entered Upper Hutt with dreams of the NZWPW Championship, but at the end of last Friday night only four were left in the NZWPW Title Chase.
The second stage of the Invasion tour rolled into Heretaunga College in Upper Hutt and left a solid impression on fans. In the main event of the evening D-Hoya and Rufguts met one-on-one one more time, with D-Hoya showcasing his amazing strength when he took a beating for most of the match and still came back to put Rufguts down with the Eclipse, knocking him out of the NZWPW Title Chase.

Cam Owens def. Infinity Fighting for the right to face former NZWPW Champion Adam Avalanche later in the night, Cam Owens rallied the crowd behind him and scored the win over Infinity - saving a potential situation between Infinite Avalanche - and entering himself into the Title Chase. - NZWPW Title Chase Quarter Final
JC Star def. Axl The first quarter final of the night saw fan favourite JC Star fly to a victory over the demonic Axl. Axl used the power game to his advantage while Star had to be a high-flyer to stay in the match. In the final moments of their match JC Star put Axl on the mat and made sure he stayed there with a beautiful moonsault from the top rope. - Dan Stirling def. “Shining” Nick Silver
The longest-running rivalry in NZWPW heated up once again as Stirling made his return to singles action. SNS hit Stirling with the Silver Lining and even a Silver Bullet but was unable to pin Dan, who in turn used his trademark moves unsuccessfully on Silver. Rehua made his way to the ring, but didn’t involve himself in the match, and watched on as a Dan Driver got Stirling the win. After the bell rang Rehua challenged Stirling to a match for bragging rights in Paraparaumu to see who the best in Company T really was. - NZWPW Title Chase Quarter Final
Jimmy Sparx def. Ben Mana Former-champ Jimmy Sparx wasn’t able to plough through Mana with ease, but did take the win after an assist from Axl. Mana looked poised to pin Sparx, but Axl took to the ring and diverted the referee’s attention. With the ref looking away, Axl blasted Mana with a chair and took off as Jimmy Sparx hit the Sparky’s Bottom to keep Ben Mana unconscious. - 2-on-1 Handicap Match
Tykade def. The Circus of Tragedy w/ Little Joker Even with the odds stacked against him, Tykade demolished the Circus of Tragedy (“Dream Catcher” Phil Woodgate & O’Siris) - with a little help from Ben Mana. Somehow the Circus avoided disqualification when they began to flood the ring, but Ben Mana stormed out from backstage to even the odds while Tykade used a massive slam to render Woodgate out for the count. - NZWPW Title Chase Quarter Final
Adam Avalanche def. Cam Owens Having already been in a match to start the show, Cam Owens was fatigued and thus outclassed by Avalanche. Somehow Owens managed to get the crowd and some momentum behind him, but the Wave of the Avalanche can strike from anywhere, and buried Cam under the man-mountain for the three. - NZWPW Title Chase Quarter Final
D-Hoya def. Rufguts Rufguts used his superior size to dominate D-Hoya for most of the match, but as soon as he found an opening D-Hoya leapt in and destroyed Rufguts with the Eclipse, proving once and for all that he can beat the former rubbish-man after all.
