New Zealand's own Hawk relinquished the WCWA Hardcore Championship at the Spring Hill Fair event on Saturday, September 7 to Grave Tavern, following a controversial match at Southport the previous Thursday.

The end of that match saw announcer Mister J make a 3 count on Hawk, although, he wasn't the official referee for the event, and referee Squire Charles had already declared the match a no contest.

Commisioner Lara Love declared the title would stay with Hawk, however Hawk later voluntarily gave the title to Grave Tavern at the Spring Hill event.
