John Cena meets The Rock in a once in a lifetime WrestleMania main event, live on
pay-per-view from 11am today. One year in the making, Cena and Rock have been destined to collide since the Raw following WrestleMania XXVII, where The Rock cost John Cena the WWE
Championship in his main event match with The Miz. It's a match John Cena has waited the better part of seven years for, he told
the WrestleMania XXVIII press
conference last week.
The Rock is a multiple-time world champion, and one of the men who propelled
WWE to new heights in the Monday Night Wars and during the Attitude Era.
John Cena is also a multi-time champion – with a record setting 10 WWE
Championships to his name – and the man who stepped up to fill the void in WWE
when The Rock left following WrestleMania
XX. With The Rock gone, John Cena became a household name – upholding the values of
Hustle, Loyalty and Respect, not to mention Rising Above Hate, both in and out
of the ring. When The Rock returned to WWE from the bright lights of Hollywood, and became involved
in the WrestleMania XXVII main event,
he set both his and John Cena’s career paths on a collision course for WrestleMania XXVIII. In the months that followed, Cena and Rock called one another out on Twitter,
via video messages, or any other way they could communicate with one another. But today, it all comes to a head, face-to-face, one-on-one, in a truly once in
a lifetime WrestleMania main event. Can John Cena defeat The Rock to validate everything that he stands for? Can
The Rock prove to the world that he is still one of the best sports
entertainers on the face of the planet? With all eyes on them, the world will find out today, at WrestleMania XXVIII. WWE WrestleMania XXVIII is live on
pay-per-view today, March 2, on SKY ARENA (channel 38) from 11am, with a replay
at 8.30pm. Free-For-All preview shows
air 10.30am and 8pm.
