X-Rated defeats Knox, retains Title at WPW Eruption!
Oct 30, 2004 at 08:34 AM

Wellington Pro Wrestling Catchweight Champion X-Rated defeated ‘The Deal’ Del Knox in a lumberjack match last night at the Taita Community Hall to retain his title. The action packed match saw the violence spill in and out of the ring as lumberjacks like D-Hoya, The Ram and TNT got involved, and both men delivered their finishing manoeuvres to each other, but X-Rated prevailed with his trademark X-Spot.

In the main event two-time New Zealand kickboxing champion Dan ‘The Man’ Stirling won a battle royale, eliminating Creed to earn a title shot against X-Rated at WPW’s next show, which will be on December 3 in the Lower Hutt Town Hall. The event also saw the debut of a slew of super heavyweights - the 130kg Ivan Dragunov, the 140kg Saint, the 170kg Tank and the 6’6", 160kg Ruamoko.

Other match results:

  • Creed & Dan ‘The Man’ Stirling defeated The Ram & Doctor Diablo, with Creed pinning The Ram off a swandive headbutt.
  • TNT and the debuting Karma fought to a no contest when Disturbed, also debuting, interrupted the women’s match.
  • Tank pinned Ivan Dragunov with a running splash.
  • The Saint defeated former WPW Catchweight Champion D-Hoya with the Fallen Angel in an impressive debut.
  • Ruamoko beat Les ‘The Slammer’ Barrett, pinning him off an elbow drop.
