Tyler Reks def. Jey Uso NXT opened with the big dreadlocked Reks facing one half of the Uso twins, and the smaller Samoan used his speed from the outset to gain the upper hand, taking Reks down with a spectacular running chin lock. But a big boot to Jey's face as he charged into Reks in the corner of the ring swung the momentum of the battle, and soon it began to seem that Reks had an answer for every speedy attack that was thrown at him. The crowd attempt to rally behind Jey, and a Samoan drop earned him a near fall, but Rek's strength triumphed, earning the pinfall victory after smashing Jey's head into the canvas with a gutwrench DDT combo. Percy Watson def. JTG His new look has brought new success to JTG, with the Brooklyn native once again finding himself on the losing another time to Percy Watson. JTG put up a good fight, even attracting some support from the fans as he attempted to outwrestle the showy Watson, but Watson's fireman's carry flapjack he's dubbed the "Percycution" brought the match to a relatively quick close. Tamina Snuka def. Natalya Natalya soon proved herself the stronger of these two second-generation wrestlers, powering Tamina down to the mat from the outset and quickly kicking out of a quick pinfall attempted after Tamina had struck with a drop kick. A suplex nearly secured the victory for Natalya, before the Canadian Diva attempted to wrench a submission from Tamina with an abdominal stretch. Natalya then moved to secure the victory with the Sharpshooter, but the long legs of Tamina helped her drag her way to the ropes to break up the hold. Tamina then used her legs to kick Natalya out of the ring, and when the pink-clad Diva returned to the ring Tamina was waiting with a Samoan drop. As the crowd swung in behind her, Tamina motioned to the turnbuckle, climbing atop calling for the Superfly Splash. The spectacular finishing move connected, earning Tamina the victory. Tyson Kidd & Justin Gabriel def. Heath Slater & Johnny Curtis The exciting pairing of Kidd and Gabriel dominated the early going of this tag team main event, using quick tags and high-flying moves to keep Slater and Curtis off balance. Slater was soon isolated from his tag team partner, but the flame-haired wrestler was able to resist a few attempts at submission moves from Kidd, so together Kidd and Gabriel turned to twin aerial attacks to cement control of the bout. But a bit of cheeky distraction from Curtis allowed Slater to catch Kidd off guard, and then it was the turn of Curtis and Slater to cut the ring in half, preventing Kidd from tagging in his partner. But the ever-resourceful Kidd was able to turn the two-man attack in his favour when Curtis attempted to slingshot Kidd onto the ropes where Slater was waiting with a clenched fist. Sent flying Kidd instead changed his momentum to slam into Slater's midsection, then he grabbed Slater's head to guillotine him over the ropes while landing with a hard leg drop onto Curtis below. Kidd was then able to tag in Gabriel, and the exciting South African quickly secured a near-fall with a springboard tornado DDT. Curtis was able to kick out, so Gabriel whipped him into the corner, reaching over to tag Kidd in. Gabriel then lifted Slater into the air while Kidd sprang atop the turnbuckle before leaping off to grab Curtis' head with a Blockbuster. With his head smashed down to the canvas Curtis was unable to kick out of the following pinfall, handing a popular victory to Gabriel and Kidd. |
