John Cena battles Big Show inside a steel cage match in the
main event of No Way Out. And,
despite the pay-per-view's name, either Cena or John Laurinatis will be out of
WWE as a result of the match.
CM Punk defends the WWE Championship in a triple threat
match when Daniel Bryan and Kane challenge him for the title, with AJ
undoubtedly watching on... And, fresh off a four-way dance win, Dolph Ziggler challenges Sheamus for the
World Heavyweight Championship. Who are the favourites to shape the face of WWE and leave No Way Out with all-important wins? Join the NZPWI Roundtable as we
break down the card for No Way Out.
Steel Cage Match: If John Cena loses, he will be fired; if
Big Show loses, John Laurinaitis will be fired Big Show vs. John Cena Blake: Well this is interesting... I enjoy people beating up Cena, but he is the
franchise, the Shane Douglas if you will, of the current WWE. I also like Mr
Laurinaitis, a genius in the world of... sorry, I nearly coughed up my soul; I
can't finish that sentence. I hope to see a repeat of Extreme Rules: mass destruction of Cena until the last second
victory. Goodbye Johnny. Winner: John Cena Scott: First, Big Show doesn't have a good win-loss record against Cena, and secondly,
you never bet against Cena when his job's on the line. Winner: John Cena Kirsty: I'm hoping to see Cena pick up a rare ppv win here. Surely it has to mean more
to him, than John Laurainitis's job does to the Big Show? I would say that Big
Show has the physical edge inside the cage, but I think we'll see Cena pull one
off here. Winner: John Cena Dion: Cena has had a rough year. And although you'd back him more often than not, I
think this angry Big Show is going to prove too much for him, and it'll be the
last we see of John Cena for some time. Winner: Big Show Stevie: Cena has a tendency to lose matches for his job, actually, but he always seems
to get it back within a week or two. That said, I can't see him not taking the
win here. Winner: John Cena David: John Cena was confident enough to knowingly put his job on the line. He's got
to walk out of the cage with a win. Winner: John Cena WWE Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Kane Blake: AJ is monkey-crazy. Bryan and Punk are incredible wrestlers. Kane is a monster.
I love it, I love it, I LOVE IT! I'm rooting for the best though; YES! YES!
YES! Winner: Daniel Bryan Scott: The question is, of course, who does AJ want to win? The old flame, the new
flame, or the big red flame? I've got no idea, but I can't wait to see this
match! Winner: CM Punk Kirsty: I like Kane, but I wish this hadn't turned into a triple threat because I
absolutely love Punk and Bryan's matches. Still, I think the dynamic will suit
Punk in the end. Winner: CM Punk Dion: With AJ in the mix, it'll be interesting to see how this one goes down. But I
get the feeling we're going to be hearing YES! YES! YES! after this match.
Either way, this is going to be a good one! Winner: Daniel Bryan Stevie: I smell some AJ-ference might go awry, with so many combustible elements to the
match. I'm thinking D-Bry has a good shot but I never bet against my main man. Winner: CM Punk David: Triple threats favour no one, but I think CM Punk's the man who is least
invested in AJ, believe it or not, and it'll allow him to keep the clearest of
heads. Winner: CM Punk World Heavyweight Championship: Sheamus (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler Blake: Ziggler is one of the best technical wrestlers in the world at the moment, but
Sheamus is simply to powerful. Sheamus has something that few wrestlers have
nowadays, that certain x-factor, he's just incredible. He was also the NZPWI
February Superstar of the Month as chosen by yours truly. He is and will
continue to be World Heavyweight Champion. Winner: Sheamus Scott: C'mon Ziggles! Winner: Dolph Ziggler Kirsty: Ought to be a good match, and as hungry as Ziggler is, he's not going to
overcome the Great White. Winner: Sheamus Dion: I'll be quite happy to see Ziggler capture the WHC in this one. But I think
Sheamus is going to prove too tough. Winner: Sheamus Stevie: Ziggler has a lot to prove, after many losses recently. I think he'll put on a
great show but I don't see him taking the title. Still, he's a sneaky
competitor. If he can cause Sheamus to lose his temper, he might find a way to
take the man down. Winner: Dolph Ziggler David: Does the short notice for this match, and thus short preparation time, favour
champion or challenger? I don't know, but when in doubt, always back the champ. Winner: Sheamus Intercontinental Championship: Christian (c) vs. Cody Rhodes Blake: I'm not a fan of this goodie-two shoes, feel good, ship-hopping Christian.
However, whilst there is an equal skill between these men, there is an
interesting battle here; Youth vs. Experience. In my view, this is what will
differentiate the two, and prove the winner to be; Winner: Christian Scott: I can't see Rhodes outwitting Christian in a one-on-one bout. Winner: Christian Kirsty: An interesting dynamic, but I think that now Christian's got his paws on the
gold again, he won't be letting it go. Winner: Christian Dion: This has potential match of the night written all over it. These two are going
to give it everything for a title that means so much to them both. Christian to
take it. Winner: Christian Stevie: Should be a great match. Experience takes it. Winner: Christian David: He had a good pay-per-view outing at Slammiversary last week, so why won't Christian make No
Way Out a night to remember as well? Winner: Christian Divas Championship: Layla (c) vs. Beth Phoenix Blake: I wish I could say I care about this match, but despite the fact that these two
can put on an excellent match, I simply don't give a Jagger. I actually forgot
that Layla was back until the awesome Santino/Rodriquez match (featuring the
sideshow of Layla and Beth Phoenix). Pfft, who's got a coin? Winner: Beth Phoenix Scott: I like both these women, but I think Layla has just been lucky so far. Winner: Beth Phoenix Kirsty: Oy. Well, I have my fingers crossed here and am trying to think positive,
because they did have a good match at the last PPV. Layla to retain. Winner: Layla Dion: Layla has been looking fantastic ever since her return. 12 months ago, I
would've backed Beth. But at No Way Out,
Layla is my pick. Winner: Layla Stevie: Beth is tough but Layla is on a roll. Winner: Layla David: Layla's got all the momentum in the world at the moment. I don't see her reign
atop the Divas division coming to an end any time soon. Winner: Layla Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga Blake: I have a personal vendetta against Brodus Clay, ever since he called that
little troll the greatest mind in professional wrestling. That's gimmick
infringement, and I will be contacting Mr Otunga for legal advice. Winner: David Otunga Scott: Oh, c'mon, The Funkasaurus ain't losing his victorious streak to Otunga, no
matter how large the pre-match cup of coffee. Winner: Brodus Clay Kirsty: Not while there's paint left in New Zealand that I can sit and watch dry. Winner: Brodus Clay Dion: This may be the biggest test of Brodus Clay's career to date. And I think he'll
do it. Winner: Brodus Clay Stevie: Otunga is going to get pretty jittery after all that coffee. He'll never see
those dancing feet of Clay comin'. Winner: Brodus Clay David: After being mugged by Big Show a couple of weeks back, Brodus Clay should be
able to vent some frustration and get back a bunch of that monster credibility
with a dominant showing here. Winner: Brodus Clay Staff Picks Summary: Big Show: 1 John Cena: 5 CM Punk: 4 Daniel Bryan: 2 Kane: 0 Dolph Ziggler: 2 Sheamus: 4 Christian: 6 Cody Rhodes: 0 Beth Phoenix: 2 Layla: 4 Brodus Clay: 5 David Otunga: 1 WWE No
