SmackDown was under the aegis of everyone's favourite internet darling this week - "Long Island Iced Z", Zack Ryder. Taking the reins ahead of tomorrow's Money in the Bank pay-per-view, Ryder kicked off the show in the ring, only to be interrupted by Alberto Del Rio who was quick to insult the General Manager, calling him a stupid clown. Ryder responded by booking Del Rio in a match with Sin Cara, which kicked off immediately. In a match that was short and sweet, Del Rio picked up the win with an armbreaker submission after Sin Cara missed a top rope senton. Meanwhile, Ryder was backstage performing his General Manager duties. While chatting with the World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus, Ryder was interrupted by Chris Jericho who followed in Del Rio's footsteps with an insult. An annoyed Great White told Jericho to shut it and get in the ring - an idea endorsed by Ryder, who booked Jericho and Sheamus in the evening's main event. The match kicked off with both men cautiously feeling each other out, until Jericho hauled off and slapped Sheamus full in the face. Jericho then bailed, forcing Sheamus to chase him outside the ring. The Irishman made Jericho pay for his impertience by pounding Jericho with the 10 big clubbing forearms across his chest. Not content with this, the champ then followed up by sending Jericho off the apron and onto the announce table. Despite this, Jericho managed to gain control once back in the ring, locking Sheamus into a chinlock. A bit of back and forth saw neither gaining the upper hand until Sheamus attempted a pin and got a 2 count. A codebreaker attempt by Jericho was blocked by Sheamus, who in turn missed his trademark Brogue Kick. Jericho capitalised with his own signature move, the Lionsault, but it gained him only another 2 count before the champ kicked out. Sheamus' attempt at White Noise was countered by Jericho who managed to twist the Irishman into the Walls of Jericho. Sheamus made the ropes, and once again attempted White Noise which was once again countered by the Walls. Sheamus employed his brute strength and powered out, attempting another Brogue Kick which was dodged by Jericho who countered with a Codebreaker, gaining his third 2 count. By this time Jericho was showing signs of frustration as well as a possibly injured knee. His judgment impaired, he rushed Sheamus and walked straight into a Brogue Kick, which was enough to see the champ pick up the win. Sheamus' victory was quickly soured however. As he made his way back up the ramp, he was jumped by Alberto Del Rio, who locked in the cross armbreaker as SmackDown went off the air. Results
