NZWPW: Adams and Rave win at Randwick Rage

120717_raveWith a superkick, a spinebuster and a double-stomp, The Lost Boys retained the NZWPW Tag Team Championships.

Taylor Adams and Mikey Rave defended their belts against Project Mayhem in a handcuff match - with one man from each team handcuffed to their corner, unable to tag into the match until they had been released once their partner retrieved the handcuff key, hanging from a neutral corner of the ring.

Johnny Idol tried to gain an early advantage and free James Shaw by goading Taylor Adams into a pose-off, push-up competition, and even a dance-off. Each time, Idol would attempt to snatch the key while Adams was busy "competing" only to be stopped in his tracks by the reigning tag champ.

Taylor Adams was the first man to retrieve the key, after knocking Idol to the mat once the two had wrestled back and forth for a few minutes.

Idol snatched the key from him before he was able to use it though, and hastily unlocked James Shaw for a significant advantage.

Project Mayhem stashed the key in their trunks, but after Adams risked disaster to fish it out and unlock Mikey Rave the match turned back in favour of the Lost Boys.

With momentum on his side Rave flew around the ring taking out both Idol and Shaw until Project Mayhem coordinated their attacks and planted Rave with the Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship Fund.

James Shaw then blasted Taylor Adams with green mist, blinding the tag team champion temporarily.

Mikey Rave was able to save Adams from further injury via a superkick to Shaw. Rave then took Idol out of the equation too when he handcuffed Johnny back to his corner as Idol attempted to sunset flip Rave off of the second rope.

Rave once again nailed Shaw with a superkick that sent him staggering back to receive a massive spinebuster from the recently-recovered Adams.

With Shaw now prone on the mat, Rave took to the top rope and delivered a double-stomp to the challenger before covering him for the win to successfully retain the NZWPW Tag Team Championships.

NZWPW Randwick Rage Results:

  • Axl def. Kamystery
Axl made an example out of Kamystery, refusing to pin him after Lucifer's Gift and instead dragging the masked man back to his feet for a nasty powerbomb to bring the match to an end.

  • Tykade def. Jakob Cross
Tykade stepped up to the plate after Cross' scheduled opponent, D-Hoya, was unable to compete. Furthermore, Tykade picked up the victory after enduring a British Buzzsaw from Cross and pinning his shoulders to the mat with a crucifix when Cross' own cover was too casual to keep Tykade down.

  • Best of Five Series, Match Four:
"Shining" Nick Silver def. Chad Howard
Nick Silver evened the score at 2-2 with his victory over Chad Howard, keeping the Best of Five Series alive after finishing Chad with the Silver Bullet.

  • Scarlett def. Misty
Scarlett dodged the Raging Thunder from Misty and caught the NZWPW veteran off guard with a knee to the abdomen, winding Misty and leaving her on the mat long enough to cover for the win.

  • NZWPW Tag Team Champioship, Handcuff Match:
The Lost Boys (c) def. Project Mayhem
Mikey Rave leapt from the top rope with a double-stomp for James Shaw to retain the NZWPW Tag Team Championships.
