Raw: Cena challenges Punk

120718_rawJohn Cena will challenge CM Punk for the WWE Championship in the main event of Raw's 1000th episode next week.

Cena made the announcement after Punk and Big Show met in the main event of yesterday's Raw.

Following an intense non-title bout - which saw Big Show disqualified for pushing over a referee - Big Show left the ring when John Cena made his entrance, Money in the Bank briefcase in hand.

Cena looked at Punk, slumped in the corner of the ring, and appeared to consider cashing in before warning the WWE Champion he would have one week to prepare for the biggest match of his life.

When Big Show interjected, telling Cena he was a fool for not cashing in then and there, Cena showed the WWE Universe his main reason for coming to the ring - hitting Big Show over the head with the briefcase to close out the show.

Daniel Bryan proved his interest in AJ went beyond her role as a special referee when the two paired up in tag team action against Eve and The Miz.

Eve rolled AJ up into a pinning predicament, but Daniel Bryan entered the ring while the referee was occupied keeping The Miz at bay, and flipped AJ on top of Eve for the win.

As AJ and Bryan watched the replay of their match, Bryan confessed his love for AJ and produced a ring, dropping to one knee - as he had last week - and asking for her hand in marriage.

After a moment to consider the offer, AJ responded: Yes!

AJ and Bryan then led the Las Vegas crowd in a "Yes! Yes! Yes" chant to celebrate their engagement. The two will be wed next week on Raw's 1000th episode.

Chris Jericho interrupted Dolph Ziggler's Money in the Bank celebration, cutting the Show Off off when he began to list all the champions he would surpass once he won the World Heavyweight Championship.

Ziggler accused Jericho of losing touch, as well as losing his Money in the Bank match, and was soon on the receiving end of a Codebreaker.

Rikishi made his return to Raw to go one-on-one with Heath Slater. Slater tried his best to hang with the big man but was knocked into the corner with a superkick and subjected to Rikishi's trademark stinkface, leading to a win in his first appearance back with WWE.

After the match, the Usos joined Rikishi - their father - in the ring for a celebratory dance.
