Idol outdoes Rufguts at BDTH

Johnny Idol overcame former Project Mayhem mentor "Rufguts" Roddy Gunn at Bringing Down the House, proving the student had become the master.

Idol drew on Rufguts' moveset to add insult to injury, illegally fish-hooking at Rufguts' eyes and mouth before finally finishing the match with a Rufdriver.

After the bout, Rufguts was less than pleased - cursing Idol and even NZWPW as he stormed to the back.

Also at Bringing Down the House, Jakob Cross was once again beaten by Tykade.

Cross made sure his loss came by way of count-out though, walking away from the match when neither a German suplex, nor an STO, nor the British Buzzsaw could keep Tykade down.

NZWPW Champion Ben Mana was unable to confirm when he would be back in  action - still waiting on medical advice - but spent the night behind the commentary table.

NZWPW Bringing Down the House Results:

  • Hayden Thiele def. Jade Priest
  • James Shaw def. Paul Sayers
  • Best of Five Series, Match Five:
Chad Howard def. "Shining" Nick Silver
  • He Toa Cup:
Tykade def. Jakob Cross (c) via count-out
  • The Circus of Tragedy def. The Lost Boys
  • Lolli Lane def. Scarlett
  • Johnny Idol def. "Rufguts" Roddy Gunn
