SmackDown: Mysterio comes home

120723_sdAfter Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler interrupted Rey Mysterio's SmackDown return in San Diego, Mysterio teamed up with World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus to meet the two in tag team action.

Mysterio and Sheamus won the match via disqualification when Ricardo Rodriguez interfered, but still had the last laugh on the night after a 619 and Brogue Kick combination prevented Dolph Ziggler from cashing in Money in the Bank.

Del Rio and Ziggler worked together to isolate Mysterio and beat him down in front of his hometown crowd as the match began.

Mysterio endured the assault though, finally tagging in Sheamus to turn the tide against Del Rio and Ziggler.

The Great White set about taking apart both men, damaging Ziggler with the Irish Hand Grenade and soon having Del Rio in position for a Brogue Kick.

Ricardo Rodriguez grabbed Sheamus' leg though, anchoring him to the corner to save Del Rio even if it meant causing a disqualification and making Mysterio and Sheamus the winners of the match.

Del Rio was not concerned with the result, blasting Sheamus with a roundhouse kick to the side of the head before locking the World Heavyweight Champion in the cross-armbreaker.

After decided Sheamus had had enough pain, Del Rio and Rodriguez retreated backstage, leaving the Celtic Warrior vulnerable in the ring.

Dolph Ziggler grabbed his Money in the Bank briefcase and hastily handed it to the referee, only to be struck down by Rey Mysterio before the bell could sound.

Mysterio tripped Ziggler to the ropes and popped him with a 619, sending the Show Off staggering back into a Brogue Kick from Sheamus to close the show.

Ahead of their wedding on Raw's 1000th episode, Daniel Bryan and AJ were the special guests on Christian's Peep Show.

Christian quizzed Bryan with questions like "Are you sure you're doing the right thing?" and "Is this really true love?" Bryan responded with one word each time: Yes!

The San Diego crowd was of a different opinion though, chanting "No! No! No!" when Christian began to ask them whether a wedding was a good idea.

AJ slapped Christian when he questioned her state of mind, but Captain Charisma forgave the bride-to-be for her outburst, sympathising with the stress that comes with planning a wedding.

Christian also pointed out that it was easy to forget things when focussing on a wedding, like Bryan's upcoming match with AJ's ex-boyfriend.

As the Peep Show set was taken down, Kane made his way to the ring ready to take Bryan apart.

After a quick back-and-forth battle, AJ had seen enough and climbed to the top rope where she dove onto Kane, causing a disqualification.

Kane was still able to plant Bryan with a chokeslam while AJ clung to his back, before the Big Red Monster's ex-girlfriend blinded him with an eye-rake.

AJ and Bryan escaped backstage while Kane watched on, confused, from the ring.
