Impact Pro Wrestling has announced that Dave O'Connor will challenge Kingi for the IPW New Zealand Heavyweight championship at IPW Unleashed on February 16. The news comes less than a week after O'Connor made headlines by turning on his long time tag team partner Dal Knox and helping Kingi to a successful title defence in the main event of IPW New Year's Bash. IPW Commissioner Dion McCracken - who has made no secret of his personal friendship with Knox - will reportedly be releasing a statement regarding this huge main event on Monday. O'Connor is one of the most experienced wrestlers on the IPW roster and has held the IPW NZ Heavyweight Champion three times before in the past, so will likely serve as a formidable opponent for Kingi.
