121010_banksTravis Banks has ended his three-month Japanese tour on a high note with a win in Korakuen Hall.

The 25-year-old teamed with Yoshikazu Yokoyama to defeat Jo Kyungho and KAMIKAZE earlier today, after Banks made Kyungho submit in the Lion Clutch.

"The win was amazing and the support from the crowd was great," Banks told NZPWI.

"I came here with the intention of making a name for myself and getting the win at Korakuen Hall will certainly help that."

The victory is bittersweet for Banks, who will now leave the Zero1 dojo in Tokyo, which has been his home for the past three months, and return to New Zealand.

"I loved Japan," he said. "Everything about the culture is so respectful and amazing."

Banks is expected to arrive back in New Zealand this Friday.
