CWO Rehua has decided to put Johnny Idol, JC Star, and the Circus of Tragedy in the interesting position of being both the champion and the challenger for tonight's Summer Bash show. All four men are used to being challenged for their titles but tonight they will have the opportunity to handpick just who will receive a shot at the gold in their hand or around their waist. For Johnny Idol, Bringing Down the House: Summer Bash could be a chance to defend the NZWPW Championship against uneasy ally James Shaw. Shaw and Idol spent most of 2012 as best friends and NZWPW Tag Team Champions, but tensions rose between the two when Idol became NZWPW Champion late last year, a task Shaw had hoped to accomplish. Perhaps the most worthy contender, will Shaw be given a shot at the belt? Or will Idol opt for an easier opponent in his first title defense of 2013? JC Star will be given a similar option to Idol when he puts the He Toa Cup on the line. Star has traditionally been a member of the NZWPW roster more likely to do what is right than what is easy, and will theoretically offer a He Toa Cup match to the wrestler he feels is most worthy. One man ineligible to challenge Star is former He Toa Cup Champion Jakob Cross, who staked his career on a He Toa Cup rematch at NZWPW's last show of 2012. With no obvious challenger in his sights, who will Star select for a He Toa Cup opportunity? Also at Bringing Down the House: Summer Bash, Nick Silver's Power Play X Open Challenge continues. In keeping with the theme of the night, it is not yet known who will step up to face Silver, but with anyone to have wrestled in NZWPW before eligible to answer the challenge, Silver will have to prepare for any possibility. NZWPW Bringing Down the House: Summer Bash takes place tonight, February 8, at the He Toa Gym on North Street, Petone. Doors open at 7pm, while the first match starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are available on the door ($15 for adults, $10 for children). The card, subject to change, is listed below. NZWPW Bringing Down the House Card:
