Johnny Idol finds himself without a challenger to the NZWPW Championship this Saturday after JC Star has been sidelined with an injury. Star, the reigning He Toa Cup Champion, was selected by CWO Rehua to challenge Idol for the NZWPW Championship at Newtown Knockout after his performance against James Shaw at Bringing Down the House one week ago. However, a medical examination after the match revealed Star's foot had been injured in the process of defeating Shaw, rendering him unable to compete this weekend. As such, a battle royal will be held to determine a new challenger for Idol's NZWPW Championship. James Shaw will be chaperoning a date between his sister, Olivia, and Armageddon Cup Champion Antonio at IPW Unleashed and unable to appear in Newtown, making the winner of the number one contendership battler royal highly unpredictable. Participants have yet to be announced, but conceivably any member of the NZWPW roster could enter the match - scheduled to begin Newtown Knockout - and go on to wrestle Idol for the title in the night's main event. Who will outlast their opponents and get a shot at the NZWPW Championship? Can Johnny Idol retain his most prized possession without any time to prepare for his opponent? NZWPW Newtown Knockout takes places this Saturday, February 16, at St Anne's Parish in Newtown, Wellington. Click here for a map. Doors open at 7pm, with the number one contender's battle royal starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are available on the door ($15 for adults, $10 for children). The card, subject to change, is listed below.
