It will be a battle of the Ezekiel Choke
versus the Stretch Muffler tonight when NZWPW Champion Tykade takes on James
Shaw in a submission match.
The non-title bout will be contested in
Stokes Valley, Tykade's hometown, which may give the Bigger Figure a significant
advantage.
Add to that Tykade's proficiency with the
Ezekiel Choke, which he used to defeat Shaw and win the then-vacant NZWPW
Championship at The Bushwhacker Luke's
Return in November. |

TNA have wrapped up 2012 with Final Resolution. We take a look at the show - how did it stack up? And speaking of end-of-year shows, WWE's TLC ppv is looming, as is ROH's Final Battle. We look forward to these 2012 closers.
We also reminisce about the long standing feud between AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels - which of their epic matches stand out?
Back home, the NZ Scene has seen the retirement of two of it's best-known and most popular figures - "Handsome" Danny Jacobs and "Te Tahi" Vinny Dunn. Who else has left their mark?
Glad to have you with us for this week's edition of Gimme Five. Write Comment (0 comments) |

The Aces and Eights ruined Jeff Hardy's victory celebration
after the main event of Final Resolution,
devastating both champion and challenger at the end of the pay-per-view.
Hardy had wrestled a gruelling match against Roode, putting
his body on the line with all manner of offensive manoeuvres as he tried to
close out 2012 with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
A Swanton Bomb took as much out of Hardy as it did of Roode,
and Bobby was able to take Jeff down with a spear tackle.
It was at this stage the Aces and Eights appeared at
ringside, and Roode - the man behind the thumbs up exchange on Impact Wrestling - called out to the
renegade biker gang, requesting their help. |

Big Show and Sheamus signed a no contact contract until their
chairs match at TLC but the Celtic
Warrior discovered a loophole before the end of the night.
With severe repercussions - the cancelling of their World
Heavyweight Championship bout - if the contract was violated, Big Show antagonised
Sheamus moments after the Great White had defeated Alberto Del Rio with a Texas
cloverleaf in the night's main event.
Big Show dared Sheamus to attack him, knowing Sheamus would
lose out on a title opportunity if he were to do so, and stood centre-ring,
eyes closed, while Sheamus called for his Brogue Kick. |
