After a series of managerial missteps last week it was time for John Laurinaitis to face the consequences. Having found his courage at last, however, the Interim RAW General Manager decided to continue to not back down in the face of challenges to his authority, however by show’s end Laurinaitis found that he had not just added fuel to the fires burning within both John Cena and WWE Champion CM Punk, but he may also have set alight his own funeral pyre. Meanwhile, Chris Jericho finally said his first words since returning to WWE three weeks ago, but more questions were asked than were answered. |

Despite Whetu’s best efforts, Shane Whitehead remains the KPW Champion following The Bays Wrestlefest.
As the KPW Championship match got underway in Tauranaga on Saturday, Whetu – with the crowd firmly behind him – proved he could hang with “The Technician” as the two went hold for hold in the opening moments of the match.
Impressed, Whitehead offered his hand to Whetu, only to slap the Maori Warrior after shaking his hand.
The slap only served to fire Whetu up, and he quickly took Shane to the ground and attempted to hammer him with several forearms to the face.
Whitehead soon had Whetu scouted though, and latched on to his arm to twist it into a nasty Kimura, before Whetu forced a rope-break. |

Now that New Zealand has TNA’s Impact Wrestling, we are finally
able to have something sorely lacking from our staple diet of WWE TV: The
fabled Knockouts division. While not as strong as it once was, this is one of
the few places in mainstream pro wrestling that you can often see the women
being treated like any other male wrestlers. No one-minute-wonders here; these
women hit hard, fight hard and it’s about damn time too.

NZWPW has announced details of New Zealand’s first full-time pro wrestling training programme.
The NZWPW Wrestling Academy, to be launched this year, will be accepting beginner and intermediate students for an intensive three month course, with training sessions from 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday.
Trainees will also be able to participate in regular NZWPW training sessions on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights.
NZWPW Chairman Martin Stirling says the academy will offer people a chance to live their dream, as well as raise the profile of New Zealand wrestling internationally.
Trainees will be instructed by members of the NZWPW roster, with the possibility of guest trainers being brought in from Australia and the United States.
NZWPW will release further details of its wrestling academy this week. |

In the main event of Mana Mamau, "The Samoan Silverback" Alexander accomplished an overdue acheivement, capturing the Impact Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship in a huge fatal four way match, ending "The Deal" Dal Knox's twelve month reign as champion.
"The Samoan Silverback " Alexander has sought gold for over a decade but finally broke his drought, winning his first Heavyweight Championship after hitting the four time IPW Heavyweight Champion, "The Deal" Dal Knox, with his finishing piledriver.
The Fatal Four Way match also involved his tag team partner, Kingi, and one half of the IPW Tag Team Champions, Dave O'Connor. Tension began to show between both members of Smack Industries with the Heavyweight Championship in the balance, with both members breaking up pin attempts from each other.
Mana Mamau also saw "Te Tahi" Vinny Dunn take on the "The Strong Style Supervillain" Liger in a brutal physcial confrontation. Liger fell victim to the clutches of Te Tahi's ankle lock, allowing the former champion to take the win by submission.
Also, one of Impact Pro Wrestling's newest talents to join the show, "The Peak of Perfection" Travis Banks returned to the screen, making quick work of the ginger haired "road cone" Pat Schisk, tapping out to the Lion Clutch Submission.
