Big Show has returned to the ring to help Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe in their war against Seth Rollins and The Authors of Pain (AOP).
Rollins, the self-proclaimed “Monday Night Messiah”, was as shocked as the rest of the WWE Universe to see The World’s Largest Athlete join Joe and Owens for the Raw main event.
Big Show overpowered Akam, Rezar and Rollins over the course of the match before latching onto The AOP for what would have been a double-Chokeslam.
Rollins saved his disciples by smashing a steel chair across Big Show’s back. Still, it was Big Show who would have the last laugh.
Not only did he win the match by disqualification, but Big Show laid Rollins out with a KO Punch in a post-match brawl.
It was announced that Rollins and The AOP will meet Big Show, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe again next week in what is being billed as a “Fist Fight”.
Rey Mysterio narrowly missed out on becoming a three-time United States Champion thanks to Zelina Vega.
Vega placed Andrade’s foot on the bottom rope just before referee John Cone counted to three after Mysterio planted El Idolo with a Canadian Destroyer in his rematch for the title.
The match continued and Mysterio launched himself onto Andrade on the outside of the ring. Andrade caught his opponent and flung Mysterio overhead – accidentally knocking Vega down in the process.
Mysterio tried to check on Vega while Andrade rolled back into the ring. When Mysterio followed the United States Champion, Andrade caught Mysterio in a Hammerlock DDT to retain the title.
Shockingly, Andrade tore off Mysterio’s mask after the match. WWE officials covered Mysterio’s face with a towel as Andrade and Vega left the ring with Mysterio’s most coveted possessions: his mask and the United States Championship.
