The Bloodline continues to disintegrate, and the stakes continue to raise, as “Main Event” Jey Usos meets “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.

With the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the line, Reigns and Uso meet in Tribal Combat. It’s anything goes (no disqualifications, no count-outs) with the winner walking away as champion, and Head of the Table too!

Can Jey Uso pin Reigns at a second-straight premium live event? Join the NZPWI Roundtable as we break down the card for WWE SummerSlam 2023.

* * *

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, Tribal Combat:
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso

Grady Hooker (78% accurate in 2023):
Somehow some way, Roman Reigns always come out on top. As much as I want to see Jey Uso whoops his ass up and down the arena, I can’t bet against Roman.
Winner: Roman Reigns

AJ Murtagh (70% accurate in 2023):
Roman may he playing it cool after his loss at Money in the Bank but he knows how much this match means and what is on the line for him personally and professionally. He will find the means to beat Jey but it won’t be easy.
Winner: Roman Reigns

David Dunn (70% accurate in 2023):
Every time I think Reigns will lose, he doesn’t (WrestleMania 39) and every time I think he won’t (Money in the Bank) he does. I’ve come to the conclusion The Usos are best when they’re together, and despite the success Jey and Jimmy found in London, this SummerSlam match will play out closer to Jey and Roman’s other singles matches.
Winner: Roman Reigns

Steve McCleary (68% accurate in 2023):
Okay, sure, Jey Uso was the first guy to pin Reigns on the main roster. And then the first person to pin him once he started this championship run. But the distant past doesn’t matter, and recent history is just that, history. Good for him, and all that. Now he faces a focused Tribal Chief, one who isn’t conflicted over the betrayal of his family members. At SummerSlam, Jey Uso gets carved up and devoured by The Head of the Table.
Winner: Roman Reigns

Sammy G (50% accurate in 2023):
The Usos did the impossible when they pinned Reigns at Money in the Bank during the Bloodline Civil War and ended the multi-year undefeated streak of The Tribal Chief. As personal as things are, and as great as The Usos have become, Roman is still GOD Level and I (sadly) don’t see Jey walking out as champ.
Winner: Roman Reigns

World Heavyweight Championship:
Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor

Grady:
Balor is way too distracted by what is happening in his group of bandits to overcome Rollins. We have seen him try time and time again and fall short, time for someone else to get a shot at the champion.
Winner: Seth Rollins

AJ:
It may be a long shot but I have a feeling Damian Priest will see an opportunity to cash in he won’t be able to resist, and I don’t think he’ll wait for the match to be over to seize that opportunity. Bit out of left field but I’m running with it.
Winner: Damian Priest

David:
There’s too much going on in The Judgment Day for me to be confident Balor can get it together to take down Rollins. Still, Money in the Bank, the North American Championship, and the Women’s World Championship aren’t bad, right?
Winner: Seth Rollins

Steve:
Seven years is a long time to toil. That anger, festering. Rage, building. And now is the time to cast it all out and in that moment, find redemption. Or it would be if Balor was facing anyone but the Freakin’ Messiah. History will repeat here, but it’s not Balor conquering Rollins for a title, no. It’s Balor walking away without the use of his arm again. And just maybe it’s a different member of The Judgment Day who walks away with the championship.
Winner: Seth Rollins

Sammy:
Since Money in the Bank there has been some tension in The Judgment Day. Both Balor and Priest have a target painted on Rollins, and their sights equally set on the World Heavyweight Title! For this match, I think a well-placed Coup de Grace on Seth will be the bullseye required to bring the title to the faction by way of Balor’s waist.
Winner: Finn Balor
