One of New Zealand’s definitive tag team rivalries comes to a head this weekend in one of IPW’s definitive matches.
IPW Tag Team Champions SAS, Alex Savage and Will Stone, defend their titles against former champs Nu Blood, Kid Nova and Zac Hayle, in a Fans Bring the Weapons Match.
SAS took the titles from Nu Blood, ending their record-setting reign of more than a year, at Nightmare Before Christmas 2024. But the win wasn’t without controversy – Zac Hayle’s foot had been touching the bottom rope.
A rematch with added stakes, 2-out-of-3 Falls, was made for IPW Reckoning to kick off 2025, but again, things ended questionably. Alex Savage ensured referee Conan Wood missed Will Stone tap out. Stone then pinned Hayle while illegally holding his tights.
There will be no rules to bend or break on Saturday, in what will be just the second tag team Fans Bring the Weapons Match in IPW history.
Will Stone addressed the challengers: “At Fans Bring the Weapons, you are going to get the absolute best of SAS. Once that’s over, Nu Blood, SAS, we’re done. You’re done.”
