As amazing as this weekend was for so many New Zealand wrestling fans, and as we reminisce with each other about the WWE SmackDown show, spare a thought for the many frustrated WWE fans who were left stranded in Picton on Saturday morning.

Having driven from all over the South Island in order to catch the ferry to Wellington, southern fans were turned away as bad weather and heavy seas made the ferry crossing impossible. Fans were refunded the cost of their ferry tickets.

NZPWI has received many emails from frustrated and upset fans who missed out on the show, and we offer our condolences to them. It was indeed a cruel twist of fate.
