Roberts’ title defence against El Oro Maximo (who answered Roberts’ open challenge) was overshadowed by Kartik’s victories against Bryant and Chad Howard, Roberts’ Rodeo Drive cohorts, in a gauntlet match main event at Live Pro Wrestling.
Rodeo Drive jumped Kartik after the bout, beating down the future challenger, but Kartik made it back to his feet for a staredown with Roberts at the end of the night to let the champion know he would not be denied in his quest to hold Hughes Academy gold.
Kartik and Roberts will sign a contract to make their title match official at the next Hughes Academy Live Pro Wrestling event on September 5.
The Hughes Academy Women’s Championship is back around Misty’s waist.
With Kenith out of the picture at Live Pro Wrestling, then-champ Tabitha recruited Frankie Quinn to help her defend her title against Misty in a two-on-one handicap match.
Despite the numbers game, Misty steamrolled her way through both Tabitha and Quinn to become a two-time titleholder and reclaim the Hughes Academy Women’s Championship.
