Former Mania talent Tommy Combat (Thomas Clark) recently spoke with NZPWI about his ongoing training at the Heartland Wrestling Association (HWA) in Ohio.
Although he is still two-to-three months away from making an in-ring debut with HWA, Tommy has been learning the ropes from some of the best indie trainers in the USA. He has also met up with WWE Superstars John Cena, Funaki, Faarooq, Albert, Rosey, and a probable future WWE star, Nova.
Part of the training has involved several training matches, one of which saw Tommy tagging with a brand new Diva just signed to the WWE developmental team in OVW, Nikita.
Tommy is also in the fortunate position of flatting with the current HWA Champion, Matt Stryker, who recently came 192nd in the PWI 500.
Apart from HWA, Tommy has managed to watch two other promotions, Mid-West Wrestling in Chicago and UPW in Dayton, Ohio.
