
| IBS wins Heavyweight Championship at NZWPW Powerplay II! |

Last night New Zealand Wide Pro Wrestling crowned a new Heavyweight Champion in a four man tourney, as previous champion Ruamoko had been forced to vacate his title due to injury. Island Boy Si, who had competed for Rarotonga earlier that night in the Oceania Sumo Championships, defeated the debuting Naki Phulla Max Damage in the first semi-final. His opponent in the final was the veteran Punisher, who bested "The Professional" Harvey Dollars, also a debutante. In the final IBS was forced to battle not just the 180kg Punisher, but also the monster's protégés X-Rated, The Ram and The Saint. However, miscommunication between The Punisher and The Saint gave the popular Polynesian all the opening he needed to hit a crossbody off the top for the win. He then accepted a challenge from Ivan Dragunov to a title match at NZWPW's next show, which will be held on May 6 in the Lower Hutt Town Hall. Other match results:
