140130_bdthEvery NZWPW championship will be defended at Bringing Down the House tomorrow night, with the titleholders hand-picking their opponents.

Bringing Down the House 36: Champions’ Choice will feature five title bouts, with the SCW Championship and KPW Women’s Championship also on the line.

SCW Champion “Rufguts” Roddy Gunn would not tell NZPWI who he planned to defend his title against, but did issue a warning to the entire New Zealand wrestling scene.

”The whole of New Zealand wrestling needs to be on alert, ’cause we [The Nobodies] ain’t looking to win matches,” he said. “We are looking to break backs, careers, and hearts; nobody is safe.”

KPW Women’s Champion Scarlett was more forthcoming in her answer.

“With so many exciting, up-and-coming female wrestlers around New Zealand, I was very tempted to challenge some of the girls I saw on show at KPW Halloween Howl,” she said.

”I did consider sending a challenge to Krystal Kayne or Angel from the Hughes Academy, but their time will come. Tomorrow night, I’m going to be the first person to gain back-to-back victories over NZ’s most dominant female wrestler, Misty.”

NZWPW Tag Team Champions Chad Howard and Paul Sayers, the 20/20 Experience, also decided to announce their opponents in advance, challenging Hayden Thiele and Jade Priest to a match for the tag team titles.

One bout at Bringing Down the House will feature neither a champion nor a challenger. Instead, Mikey and Taylor Adams meet in the final of the tournament to crown a new He Toa Cup Champion.

Adams earned his place in the final with wins over Mr Silver and “Dream Catcher” Phil Woodgate, while Mikey took out Hayden Thiele and Skull Kid. Now, with the cup on the line, the former friends go one-on-one.
