Some of the biggest stars of New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) are coming to New Zealand.
Bullet Club, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Kazuchika Okada are the first three names announced for a Sakura Events card, in partnership with NJPW, to be held at The Trusts Arena in Auckland on Saturday, November 12.
“We are pleased to partner with an organisation full of history and integrity in the sports entertainment business,” Sakura Events said in a statement.
Bullet Club is perhaps the most popular faction in pro-wrestling today with members spanning the globe, including New Zealand’s Bad Luck Fale. Okada and Tanahashi are two of the biggest stars in modern Japanese pro-wrestling with one of the two having been named Tokyo Sports MVP for six of the last seven years.
More names from NJPW will be announced as the event draws closer. There is also the possibility of New Zealand celebrities getting in on the action, according to the Sakura Events website.
Tickets to the event go on sale Friday, May 13 via Eventfinda. A live iPPV option will also be available for fans unable to make it to The Trusts Arena.
